2 Admission Requirements: First time Freshman: Applicants who enroll the semester following high school graduation or have no college hours: 1. Rank in the top ½ of their high school graduating class and score a minimum SAT of 950 (Critical Reading + Math) or minimum ACT of 20 OR Rank in the lower ½ of their high school graduating class and score a minimum SAT of 990 (Critical Reading + Math) or minimum ACT of 21 OR Rank in the top 10% of their high school graduating class from an accredited high school with no minimum SAT or ACT score 2. Graduate with 24 units of credit to include the following: English (4), Social Science (3.5), Science (3), Foreign Language (2) and Mathematics (3) 3. Submit an official final high school transcript which shows a graduation date and final class ranking (mailed directly from high school to UMHB) Transfer Student: Applicants with 12 or more transferable hours who intend to seek a degree at UMHB: 1. Submit official transcripts from all previous colleges/universities attended 2. Have an overall GPA of a 2.0 or higher on all college hours attempted 3. Not currently on scholastic or disciplinary suspension from any college/university Please refer to the current undergraduate catalog for additional details and information on other forms of admission. Dates to Remember: Housing and financial aid are limited. We suggest that you complete the fall admission process by returning all completed Admissions, Financial Aid, and Housing applications by March 1. Enrollments deposits are due by May 1 for the fall semester and are fully refundable up to this date. For students accepted after May 1, enrollment deposits are due 2 weeks after acceptance. Residence hall applications will be mailed to applicants once accepted for admission. Newly accepted students will be personally invited to CRU Camp and or Crusader Connection, an early orientation during the summer. Once accepted to UMHB, start submitting housing application and enrollment deposit (refundable until May 1). October November January February March Indicate UMHB s school code on national ACT/SAT tests. CRUSADER PREVIEW (weekend before Thanksgiving) Submit 7th semester high school transcript. Sader Days begin (one day campus visits) Submit UMHB Financial Aid Application and FAFSA. Award notices are sent out. Schedule a campus visit if you have not already done so. April May June July August Attend CRU Camp (accepted students only) Enrollment deposit due. Submit final high school transcripts. Attend CRU Camp for newly accepted freshmen. Housing assignments are mailed. Attend Crusader Connection for newly accepted transfer students. Move into residence halls. New students participate in Welcome Week. Start classes. Become a Crusader!

7 Application Checklist Please submit the following information: Admissions: APPLYING AS A FIRST-TIME FRESHMAN: Complete application and $35 application fee (must be submitted before financial aid and housing applications can be processed) 7th Semester high school transcript (with current rank and ACT/SAT scores for early acceptance) Official SAT or ACT scores; writing sample is required on both tests for academic advising purposes. [ACT phone number (319) ; UMHB school code 4128] [SAT phone number (866) ; UMHB school code 6396] Final official high school transcript (must contain graduation date and class rank) Submit a UMHB Crusader Leadership Scholarship Application* Scholarship Application Deadlines: December 1 - Priority Deadline; February 1 - Regular Deadline APPLYING AS A TRANSFER STUDENT: Complete application and $35 application fee (must be submitted before financial aid and housing applications can be processed) All official college/university transcripts (mailed directly from that institution to the UMHB Admissions Office) Students transferring less than 12 transferable semester hours (non-developmental, non-vocational) will be admitted using criteria for freshman applicants as well. STUDENTS LIVING ON-CAMPUS: Complete an application for Campus Housing with $300 deposit ($150 applied to housing deposit and $150 applied as pre-payment towards the student s bill, deposit fully refundable until May 1) Submit bacterial meningitis vaccine documents Submit the medical history form which is part of the housing application and submit immunization records (The housing application will not be considered complete or an assignment made until all of the materials listed above are received. The application will be dated when it is received with the $300 enrollment deposit. That original application date will be preserved and used to make the fall assignment as long as the other required documents are received by March 1st. After March 1st, the application date will change to match the date all required documents were received.)
