How often do you receive ambiguous s you do not understand, that you need to reply to for clarification or that do not concern you? So what about the people who have to read what you write; are your s always clear, concise and easy for them to understand? Do your readers know what you want, by when and why, or do they also have to re-read and occasionally misunderstand what you write...? If so, this workshop is definitely for you!
2 Objectives The goal of this workshop is to discover together how to communicate proactively in a structured, chronological and factual way that will considerably increase the chances of your readers understanding what you want and acting promptly. You will learn how to: > Identify what it is you want to communicate, > Focus on what your readers need to know, > Get your readers to take the action you want, > Save time for yourself and for your readers, > Save and file your s efficiently. Participants Methods > Managers, assistants, HR, PR and Administrative staff who frequently write in English at work. > Practice-oriented training based on worked examples. program Two weeks before the workshop, you will receive a comprehensive handout that will introduce you to our straightforward language framework and communication approach. This leaves the time spent at the workshop for exploring solutions to everyday communication situations in the workplace. At the workshop you will learn how to write to-the-point s in straightforward international English that everybody understands. You will be introduced to structuring requests and communicating information in a way that gets things done efficiently.
3 Program You will get practice in writing job-related s designed to show you how to respond effectively to challenging communication situations at work. By working over the solutions live on the projection screen, you will see how to structure s coherently and simply in a way that get your message across. At the close of the workshop, as well as having learned a goalfocused approach to communication, you will also receive copies of all of the exercises worked on during the workshop. You can then simply copy and paste from these to construct the next you need to write. Ralph is an engineering and management graduate, with 30 years experience in operational management, environmental engineering, designing and implementing quality management systems, developing communication tools and supports, and translating corporate documents.
