1 DCC Versailles, August 31 st, INFO-TECH CITROËN Racing DS3 R3 Subject: A few reminders about the running of the DS3 R3 After a first half-season of rallies with the DS3 R3, we offer you a quick reminder of some running tips for the DS3 R3 (not exhaustive): A FTP server, containing all documents relative to the running of the DS3 R3, is available (access conditions below). It is important to check regularly these documents to ensure you have the latest version, knowing that only the InfoTechs are sent systematically. For Information, a document summing up all of the tightening torques is also available on the server. The engine bay should not be clean with a pressure washer. The engine and gearbox sensors and actuators are not designed with a WRC like watertightness level. We advise you to regularly clean the filter located at the end of the wastegate solenoid valve venting hose. Every shipment of Gearbox / Differential / Hydraulic Control Unit to 3MO Performance has to be attached to the intervention request form available in the gearbox manual (document in annexe). Indeed, in order to optimise the quality of service, no work will be conducted without receipt of this document, filled as precisely as possible (mileage, possible problem, presence of leaks, ). Also, for every shipment of Engine to ORECA, it is necessary to attach the information form fully filled (document available in annexe). The fluids to use for the DS3 R3 are the following: o Engine Oil: Total Quartz 10W50 (ref. 0AXXQUARTZ). Quantity 3,5L à 3,7L. o Gearbox Oil: Total 75W90 (ref. 5L 1C A et 2L 1C A) Quantity 1,4L o Hydraulic and Power steering Fluid : LDS (réf. BCSP9979A3) It is important to use only LDS in the hydraulic circuit and to take care of the cleanliness when working on this circuit. Page 1/5

2 The shifting conditions between Reverse - Neutral 1 st are the following: o Up-shift: speed < 10 km/h et rpm > 1000 rpm o Down-shift: speed < 30 km/h et rpm < 2000 rpm In order to improve the airflow in the car cabin, take care not to block the blowholes at the back of the bodyshell, but make a mask out of soft plastic and rivet it on its upper part (as indicated in the bodyshell manual). In a follow-up of your car and to best assist you in solving any technical problem, the memory extension and the data acquisition tools are strongly advised. The tightening of the hydraulic control unit shaft has to be checked at every service: screw the shaft fully without tightening, then unscrew it of 1/8 th of a turn (45 ). When setting the geometry of the car, make sure that the front axle gain toe-in under compression (50mm). This parameter is set by adjusting the steering rack height. The brake pad heat shields (available on option) limit the heating of the brake fluid by heat transfer. The brake pad thus works under higher temperatures, as a result : o The pad can get out of its operating range. We advise you to use the heat shields with extended temperature range pads (such as the Alcon JJ1). o The brake discs working under higher temperatures, its wear is being accelerated. The use of the heat shields is therefore to reserve for tarmac events including long stages (>30km) and/or stages with very demanding profiles (long descents, ). In order to comply with the R class regulation, the heat shield must be fastened to the pad. The fitting of the heat shield must be done on bedded pads which thickness doesn t exceed 15 mm. The use of WD40 on the electrical components and connectors is to be avoided. The Citroën Racing customer technical support team remains at your disposal for any question.
