2 Directorʼs Message Welcome to the Dream Together Master Program. It is my pleasure to introduce our global sport development initiative, called the Dream Together Master Program. This is a graduate program to educate future global leaders in sport management at. The contemporary sport has made great progress. Unfortunately, many nations have to yet maximize the full potential of sport in changing life and society. We believe that the best way to promote sport development in the world is to identify, train, and connect the next generation sport administrators who will provide leadership. Korea is the only country that has changed from an aid-recipient country to being a donor country. Over the last few decades, Korea has achieved remarkable growth not only economically but also in the international sport area. Now it is the time for Korea to share its experiences with the global community. The Dream Together Master Program is part of a national project funded by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), through the Korea Foundation for the Next Generation Sports Talent (NEST). Without the ardent support of the MCST, NEST, and the Korea Olympic Committee, this program would not be feasible. We are honored to launch the Dream Together Master within the Global Sport Management Graduate Program at. This unprecedented initiative is drawing positive attention from not only within Korea, but from all over the world. We dream for the day when all the countries throughout the world enjoy and appreciate the benefits of sport. We hope that the graduates of this program help make this dream come true. 3 Dream Together Master Program The Dream Together Master Program aims to promote global sport development through training those who will lead sport in countries where sport is underdeveloped. The program also intends to consolidate international sport cooperation via global networking. The program provides world-class education for future leaders in the field of sport management to foster sport development both at the national and international level. Students participating in this program are all selected through a competitive selection process and financial aid is provided. The Dream Together Master Program is a global sport development initiative operated by the Global Sport Management Graduate Program at (SNU), funded by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism through the NEST using national sports promotional funds, in cooperation with the Korean Olympic Committee (KOC). Global Sport Management Graduate Program The Global Sport Management Graduate Program at SNU, which operates the Dream Together Master Program, offers Master s and Ph.D. degrees in Sport Management. The Global Sport Management Graduate Program provides an integrated and concentrated approach to the study of sport management, and helps develop knowledge and skills required to effectively and efficiently manage both non-profit and for-profit sport organizations. Coursework covers areas such as sport management, marketing, governance, communication, finance, law, development,etc. As an indisputable leader of higher education in the Republic of Korea, SNU ranked 35th in the 2013 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. It is the only institution in the world s top-50 universities that offers both Master s and Ph.D. degrees in Sport Management. Today, the university has sixteen colleges, ten graduate schools including professional graduate schools, 125 research institutes and other various affiliated institutions. As SNU is located in Seoul, the heart of Korea, it is able to offer its students with a wide range of outstanding cultural and recreational opportunities. City of Seoul Seoul, the capital of Republic of Korea, is a safe, exciting, and attractive city, packed with count less sights to see and places to visit from traditional royal palaces to trendy shopping districts. The Seoul metropolitan area contains four UNESCO World Heritage sites including Changdeok Palace and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty. As the birthplace of K-pop and the Korean Wave, Seoul has been voted as one of the most popular destinations by Asian tourists. Seoul also has a legacy of hosting various international sporting events such as the 2002 FIFA World Cup, 1988 Summer Olympics, and 1986 Asian Games. During their stay in Seoul, students will have many opportunities to enjoy the city.

They should be interested in broadening their knowledge, skills, and network in sport management. Final Degree Students successfully fulfilling the degree requirements will receive a Master's degree in Sport Management from. 6 2014 Dream Together Master Program Program Start The regular semester will begin September 1st, However, extracurricular program begins in August, prior to the regular semester start date. Extracurricular program includes Korean language course and Korean culture tours. Tours include, but are not limited to, the visiting of Korean traditional heritage sites, Olympic and World Cup stadiums and the viewing of Korean professional baseball games, and K-Pop concerts. Duration The Dream Together Master Program is a two-year program (four academic semesters), which lasts from September 2014 to June Financial Aid The Dream Together Master Program offers full scholarships to most students. The scholarship covers: Tuition Living expenses Flight tickets Field trips Insurance Admission Eligibility Current government officers or sport administrators in public and private sport organizations Bachelor s degree or higher (in any field) Sufficient command of both spoken and written English to take classes conducted entirely in English Potential and passion for sport management Good health both physically and mentally to successfully complete the program Application Procedure Please refer to our homepage for the most up to date information regarding application deadlines.
