2 οur history... Our first backgammon was made in 1947 by George Manopoulos who wanted something special to enjoy the game according to his standards. His idea was to combine wood with aluminum because he liked to have something unique no matter how difficult was to make it. This way of thinking paved the way for continuous research and development of our products. With the same creativity and interest for handmade art and expertise on design and decoration Constantinos Manopoulos, founded in 1970, the company engaged in manufacturing handmade chess and backgammon. Today, MANOPOULOS SA is a modern integrated manufacturing unit in historical metal chess set and traditional hand made backgammon with significant export business to all over the world since 2

3 Marquetry, also known as inlaid work, is the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns, designs or pictures. The technique may be applied to furniture, decorative small objects with smooth wooden surfaces or freestanding pictorial panels appreciated by their own right. 3
