2 I. Introduction The EnduraLAM 150 is an instant market staple among cold laminators due to its ability to yield professional output while maintaining simplicity both in structure and ease of use. More versatile than a desktop laminator, but lacking the bulk and power consumption of its big brother (EnduraLAM 200), the 150 is an affordable, entry-level laminator whose job performance is anything but scaled down. Enjoy continuous laminating for longer jobs as the EnduraLAM 150 s two powered rollers (upper and lower) feed cold lamination film while stripping and collecting its backing paper. This controlled cleanup allows the operator to focus on monitoring the end lamination and collecting the media. Other highlights of the EnduraLAM 150 include precise control options via manual switch or foot-pedal, minimal power consumption (60W), and an emergency stop for safety. 5 IV. Installation Install the stand using the following diagram. When unpacking your laminator, choose a location where which you can anticipate long-term operation. Make sure that there is no visible damage to the machine and all of the parts/accessories are installed. Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (void of power strips or extension cords). Install the film mandrel, the left cabinet, and the right cabinet of the print roller (fasten the screws). Make sure the ends are symmetrical. Press the start button and verify that the rollers have begun rotating. Attempt a test job to check the effect and quality of lamination. Laminator Stand Installation 5

6 V. Operation Method A. General The film mandrel and liner paper can be installed and removed quickly. Three rubber strips (which can be rolled) are mounted on the aluminum mandrel to lock the core of the film roll. The tension control knob on one end of the liner paper roller regulates friction to synchronize the speed of the main rollers and the liner paper roller. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the tension and damping. Turn the knob counterclockwise to decrease the tension. Use the crank on the right cabinet to control the turning force and pressure. Turn the crank clockwise to lift the top roller. Turn it counterclockwise to drop the roller. When the top roller is dropped to the point that it reaches the bottom roller, the turning force is significantly reduced causing what is called idle stroke. When the weight of the top roller is well-distributed on the bottom roller, the laminating can be started. Continue to turn the knob clockwise to increase the pressure. B. Adjusting the parallelism and pressure of the main rollers The alignment of the main rollers is a crucial factor for ensuring quality lamination. It affects both the balance of pressure and the off-tracking. While the main rollers are well-aligned before initial shipment, heavy vibration in transport or long-time operation may eventually lead to misalignment of the main rollers. The following instructions will guide users in readjusting the rollers. 6

7 1) With the top roller barely touching the bottom, make sure there is no more than a 2mm gap between the two rollers throughout the width of the machine. If the difference excedes 2mm, proceed with the adjustment. 2) Using 2 pieces of scrap material (aproximated 3 wide and 20 long), raise the top roller up enough to insert both pieces of material under the rollers about 12 from either side. Lower the top roller until either piece of material is secured tightly between both rollers. The remaining piece of material will be loose between the rollers. Compression nut 3) Open the end cabinet on the side of the machine on which the roller is too high. Adjust both compression bolts evenly to lower the roller until you can pull on both pieces of material and feel equal pressure. 4) Tighten the compression nuts after adjustment. 5) Reattach the left side board to the machine. 7

8 VI. Safety Precautions 1. Read this manual carefully before starting the laminator. Familiarize yourself thoroughly with the structure, functioning and operation of this machine. Observe all warning symbols on the machine to prevent accidents. 2. The power cord must match the type indicated on the machine to ensure reliable ground connection. 3. This machine does not have an optical safety device. To prevent injury, always be aware of and keep a safe distance from rollers while operating. 4. Lift the roller after operation to prevent deformation from long-time pressure. Cut the power supply after use. 5. When cutting the films or images, begin cutting at a cautious distance from the machine to avoid damage to the rollers. Use cotton cloth with alcohol to clean the rollers. Do not use organic solvent to swipe the roller or wash the roller by water. This could damage the rubber or risk causing a short-circuit in the machine. 6. Install the machine in a dry and well ventilated environment. Make sure the ground is free of water or moisture. Keep the machine far from flammable and pressurized combustibles. 7. Monitor the electrical performance of the machine and power supply regularly. If there is any abnormal fluctuation in power (decreased power, surges, outage, etc.), address the problem in a timely manner to prevent further damage. 8

9 VII. Warranty 1. The EnduraLAM 150 comes with a one-year warranty starting from the date of purchase. 2. When filing a claim, the buyer must provide the models serial number along with a detailed explanation of the problem and accompanying pictures or video. 3. The manufacturer shall not be liable to honor the terms of this warranty if the product has been used in any application other than that for which it was intended, nor if it has been subjected to misuse, abuse, accidental damage, modification, improper wiring, improper repair, or improper installation. 4. If the machine is under warranty, parts will be provided free. The buyer will only be responsible for the shipping cost. 5. If the machine is not under warranty, parts and shipping cost will be charged. 9
