2 ADEPT PUBLISHWAVE 2015 SP2 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Note: changes in this document from previous versions are highlighted in yellow. Adept Wave 2015 SP2 is a comprehensive batch printing and publishing add-on to the Adept document management software. Wave enables Adept users to submit publishing and printing jobs either manually or automatically. For the purposes of this document, we define printing as hard-copy paper-based output and publishing as electronic output to a file, including PDF, TIF, AutoCAD DXF and SOLIDWORKS Parasolids file format. Adept Wave 2015 SP2 includes several software applications that make up the Wave server and the Wave client. These programs include: Wave Server: the workstation-based program that accepts printing and publishing requests from Adept users and submits them to the respective CAD or Microsoft Office applications for processing. Note: the Wave server program must be run as an application and not as a service. This requires that the workstation where Wave is installed is logged into at all times while the program is running. The Wave server workstation, however, may be locked to prevent unauthorized access. Note: the Wave server program must be installed on a dedicated workstation or virtual machine running the Windows 7 x64 or Windows 10 x64 workstation operating system in English not on a network server running a network operating system. Wave Client: this is the Adept Desktop Client-based feature that is used to submit printing and publishing output requests to the Wave server. This feature is installed on the Adept Desktop Client as an Adept PlugIn and must be installed on all users workstations that require access to Wave. ToAdept: ToAdept is an application associated with Wave. When Wave deposits published files in a watched folder, ToAdept can sign them into an adept library. Note: the ToAdept feature uses an Adept Desktop Client license (not included) when executing. Although not required, it is recommended to dedicate a license to the ToAdept feature to ensure its timely operation. Note: you can install ToAdept on the same workstation as the Wave server or on a different one. The ToAdept application must be installed on a workstation or virtual machine running the Windows 7 x64 or Windows 10 x64 workstation operating system in English. Page 2

3 Wave Data Bridge: Data Bridge is an application associated with Wave. Data Bridge can be used to move output files from one folder to another, extending the reach of published file access. Each Wave application also provides an appropriate administration console where the program can be configured, tested, and initiated.
