10 Under the Malaysian Electricity Regulation 1994 A Certificate of approval (COA) is required for the importation or manufacturing of electrical appliances or equipment. The type of appliances or equipments refer to are as follows: any domestic equipment; any equipment which is usually sold direct to the general public; or any equipment which does not require special skills in its operation, Approved electrical appliances or equipment are required to be affixed with safety labels before being sold to public.

27 Challenges Household electrical products which are normally connected to power socket outlet have become hybrid products which can be remotely controlled or operated by itself. Such products may fall under electrical products, electronics products or communication products. Vacuum cleaner + electronic devices = remote control machine

28 In Conclusion: Other Challenges of EE equipment Fast progress technology a new model today will be override by a newer model in within months. Counterfeit products normally lower in quality and production cost, hence safety and performance are being compromised. Secondhand EE products from a country are being disposed to other countries at a much lower price. The receiving countries will become a dumping ground of the exported countries. It is hard to prevent user from purchasing unapproved products because of its lower price.
