Remove factory exhaust. If you intend to install an AWE Tuning Performance Downpipe or any other brand downpipe at the same time as your cat back exhaust system, it is recommended that you install the downpipe first to make cat back alignment easier. Figure Step Install inlet adapter LG into mid section and secure with a 3" accu-seal clamp (do not fully tighten), at Arrow A in Figure. Install mid section QV into muffler inlet and secure with a 3" accu-seal clamp (do not fully tighten), at Arrow B in Figure. A B Figure Copyright 05, AWE Tuning. 3 Step 3 For SwitchPath Exhaust installs, swap the factory valve actuator motors from the factory exhaust onto the mounting brackets on AWE Tuning tailpipes. Secure using the factory hardware, as shown in Figure 3. For both SwitchPath and Track Edition Exhausts, install inboard tailpipes into muffler outlets and secure with the supplied 63.5mm accu-seal clamps. Then install the outer tailpipes into muffler outlets and secure with the supplied 63.5mm accu-seal clamps. Do not tighten clamps at this time. Figure 3 Step Use the supplied M6 hardware to secure the passenger and driver side tailpipe tabs, at arrow in Figure. Do not tighten at this time. Install all the tips using the supplied.6" t-bolt clamps and adjust depth and rotation to suit. Do not tighten at this time. Start at the front and begin fully tightening the accu-seal clamps. Work toward the rear ensuring the tips are aligned and adjust as needed Once all clamps are fully tightened and tips look correct, tighten the M6 bolts on the outlet tab, at arrow in Figure. Figure Step 5 Once the exhaust system is properly adjusted, install a hanger post clamp on each of the rear muffler hanger posts, as shown at arrow in Figure 5. Slide the clamp onto the hanger post so that it sits snug against the rubber element, and then tighten down with the enclosed allen wrench. These clamps will keep the exhaust from sliding laterally under usage and will keep the tips properly aligned in the valance openings. Finally, on SwitchPath Exhausts, reconnect the valve motor wiring harness to each valve. By installing or using the purchased product, the Consumer accepts this warranty and any specific Manufacturer warranties enclosed. Limited Warranty The following warranty is valid only in the United States. The Manufacturer s full warranty applies to all products sold. Secor Ltd. (AWE Tuning) warrants to the original retail purchaser (Consumer) this product (05+ Golf Exhaust) from date of original purchase against manufacturing defects for: ONE YEAR on tip finish LIFETIME on balance of parts Upon verification of warranty coverage, AWE Tuning will repair or replace the defective product at their discretion, without charge. This is the only remedy the Consumer has for any loss or damage, however arising, due to nonconformity in or defect of the product. This warranty does not cover consequential damage, loss of time or revenues, shipping costs, labor costs, inconvenience, loss of use of vehicle, damage to the vehicle or components, or other incidental or indirect damage. All warranties are void if the product was not installed by a certified auto mechanic, improperly serviced, modified, or used in a way not intended by the Manufacturer. Use of product in Motorsports or Racing conditions is grounds for warranty denial. Motorsports and Racing is an inherently abusive operational condition, and it is impossible to warranty for this type of usage. The Consumer is responsible for ensuring that the product is installed in a safe and proper manner, and should cease usage of the product immediately if an unsafe or improper condition is noted. If an unsafe or improper condition is noted, the Consumer should then immediately contact the facility where the product was installed or AWE Tuning directly.
