During this hymn the offering will be taken and choir will move to the back, ready to sing anthem after the reading.

5 In Christ alone - who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save Till on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied - For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine - Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand. + Bob prays over offering at Chancel step, then it is passed to Chris and placed on Lord s table Bible Reading: Luke Jesus Presented in the Temple 21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise him, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived. When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord), and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: a pair of doves or two young

6 pigeons. Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Christ. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel. The child's father and mother marvelled at what was said about him. Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too. There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. Anthem: Anthem unannounced. Nunc dimittis (Sung by the Clyst Mission Community Choir) Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Luke Address Bishop Bob At end of sermon, wardens ready to move from back of Church and present +Bob with the Mission Action Plan. Mike, James, Sandra & Anthony to be with them.

7 Celebration of the Mission Community by Bishop Bob The Church Wardens to present Bishop Bob with a copy of the Mission Action Plan, saying: Bishop Bob, we present you with a copy of our Mission Action Plan and ask you to Celebrate the formation of our Mission Community Children return Children will be read at back to be called in and to the front by Bishop Bob, once he has received the Action Plan from the wardens Commissioning: Bishop Bob asks us all to stand, and he prays for us all. We want to see Jesus lifted high A banner that flies across this land That all men might see the truth and know He is the way to heaven Children are still at front. Mike introduces last hymn. Some of the children have banners streamers for waving etc. We want to see We want to see We want to see Jesus lifted high We want to see we want to see We want to see Jesus lifted high Step by step we're moving forward Little by little taking ground Every prayer a powerful weapon Strongholds come tumbling down And down and down and down We're gonna see we're gonna see We're gonna see Jesus lifted high We're gonna see we're gonna see We're gonna see Jesus lifted high Blessing from + Bob. Children move out of way. Organ music for choir to recess. Refreshments served at back of Church.
