3 Future Plans for Next Two Years Retire 2.9% Relocate in Canada 1.3% Switch Career 5.6% Attend School 9.7% CDHA Position Paper 2005 Future dental hygiene practice must respond to an expanding body of dental hygiene theory, changing demographics and oral disease patterns, and the increasing need for quality oral health services. Recognizing future needs, CDHA advocates that dental hygiene education in Canada develop a more comprehensive academic system of baccalaureate and graduate dental hygiene programs. How do I create change? First step: Find your passion or interest Second step: Explore education requirements/opportunities Third step: Weigh out costs/benefits Fourth step: Commit and move forward Step 1: What do you want to do? What gets you excited? What do you want to accomplish? What do you want to be involved in? What do you want to see get done? What are your past experiences/ education that could help you now?
