Floridians are encouraged to contact their local authorities for additional information as it becomes available.*** County Evacuations The following evacuations still remain in effect: Bradford: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile homes and low-lying areas. Brevard: Mandatory evacuation order for residents of the barrier islands, including Merritt Island, as well as residents of mobile and manufactured homes and those living in low-lying, flood prone areas. Citrus: Mandatory evacuation order for low-lying areas, mobile homes and all areas west of Hwy 19. Columbia: Voluntary evacuation order for low-lying areas Escambia: Mandatory evacuation order remains in effect for Area I. Hamilton: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile homes and low-lying areas. Hardee: Mandatory evacuation order for low-lying areas, mobile homes and homes previously damaged. Indian River: Mandatory evacuation order remains in effect for barrier islands only. Martin: Mandatory evacuation order for all barrier islands, manufactured and/or mobile homes; Those living in areas within one (1) mile of navigable waterways are strongly advised to find shelter elsewhere. Orange: Mandatory evacuation order for mobile homes; Voluntary evacuation order for low-lying areas. Osceola: Voluntary evacuation for low-lying areas and mobile homes. Escambia County: o Perdido Key will be open from 8:00 a.m. CDT to 5:00 p.m. CDT. Residents, property managers, leaseholders, business owners or property owner representatives of Perdido Key are allowed to secure their property and get personal belongings. Proof of residency, ownership or authority must be presented for access to the Key. Property owners may bring no more than two (2) people with them to help secure their property. 3 County Re-Entry Escambia County (Cont d): o Pensacola Beach Key will be open from 8:00 a.m. CDT to 5:00 p.m. CDT. Residents, property managers, leaseholders, business owners or property owner representatives of Perdido Key are allowed to secure their property and get personal belongings. Vehicles must have a Santa Rosa Island authority sticker on their vehicle, proof of ownership or authority for access to the Pensacola Beach. Property owners may bring no more than two (2) people with them to help secure their property. Okaloosa County: Residents and property owners must bring a driver s license; military ID; state-issued, non-driver ID; or US passport as proof of identity. A utility bill, voter registration card, library card or secondary form of ID may be required if the primary ID does not show an Okaloosa Island address. Santa Rosa County: Pedestrian traffic only will be allowed onto Navarre Beach from 7:00 a.m. CDT to 2:00 p.m. CDT daily. Residents must have their Navarre Beach ID card in order to gain access. Hardee SR 64 approx feet east of U.S.17. Highland US-98 (SR-700) closed between Arbuckle Creek Road and State Road 17. Polk US 92 between Bridgers Road and Charlotte Road. Northeast Florida Roads open in Clay, Dixie, Duval, Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Union and Taylor counties. Alachua U.S. 27/41 three miles south of Archer; SR 26 west of SR 222 intersection northwest of Gainesville; and SR 121 past CR 156 and 166th Street. Columbia SR 47 about four miles south of I-75 near Herlong Road. Gilchrist SR 47 from Trenton to CR 232. Detour is SR 26 to CR 337 to CR 232. U.S. 129 from one mile north of Trenton to County Road 307. Levy SR 47 about a half mile north of U.S. 129 (one lane blocked). Florida Panhandle Roads open in Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Wakulla and Washington counties. Escambia SR 292 Perdido Key Road; Bob Sykes Bridge, with exception of emergency vehicles; SR 8 (I-10) Escambia Bay Bridge; and Millview Bayou Bridge (SR 298). Santa Rosa SR 399 Navarre Bridge causeway on Santa Rosa Island; A ferry service is in operation to carry residents/property owners back and forth to inspect their property. I.D. required. Walton SR 20 Basin Bayou Bridge over the Choctaw Bay in Villa Tasso. Southeast Florida Roads open in Palm Beach County. Broward Sunrise Boulevard Bridge is closed to Intracoastal boat traffic only; Open for vehicle traffic; and Los Olas Boulevard Bridge is opening only one leaf for Intracoastal boat traffic; Open for vehicle traffic. Martin A1A between Martin and Saint Lucie County, Hutchinson Island; Jensen Beach Causeway; Lyons Bridge closed; and Indian River Drive. 7 Transportation Road/Bridge Closures (Cont d) Central/West Coast Florida Roads open in Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Sumter, Hillsborough, Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas and Volusia counties. Brevard U.S. 1 south of Malabar Road in Brevard County (one lane is open); One westbound lane of SR 518 (Eau Gallie Blvd.); One eastbound lane of SR 518 between US1 and SR A1A; and U.S. 1 between the Indian River County line and U.S. 192; the only detour is I-95. Orange The center and outside lanes of Maitland Blvd (SR 414). Seminole U.S. 17/92 along Lake Monroe north of Sanford. Southern Counties Roads open in Dade and Monroe counties. Turnpike Turnpike is open. Tolls The following tolls remain suspended until further notice: Florida's Turnpike Florida s Turnpike from the Hollywood Boulevard interchange in Broward County north to the Interstate 75 interchange in Wildwood. South Florida Interstate 75 (Alligator Alley) Sawgrass Expressway (Toll Road 869) in Broward County Airport Expressway (Toll Road 112) in Miami-Dade County (MDX) Dolphin Expressway (Toll Road 836) in Miami-Dade County (MDX) Don Shula Expressway (Toll Road 874) in Miami-Dade County (MDX) Gratigny Parkway (Toll Road 924) in Miami-Dade County (MDX) Rickenbacker Causeway (Miami-Dade Public Works) Venetian Causeway (Miami-Dade Public Works) Tampa Bay Area Veterans Expressway (Toll Road 589) Suncoast Parkway (Toll Road 589) Selmon Crosstown Expressway in the Tampa Bay area Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the Tampa Bay area Pinellas Bayway in the Tampa Bay area Polk Parkway in Lakeland Brief 3 Page 7 of 12

Lewis Airport (GDK) until further notice Martin County Witham Field Boil Water Notices (Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne) Total boil water advisories issued statewide: 31 counties Alachua, Bradford, Brevard, Citrus, Collier, Columbia, DeSoto, Duval, Escambia, Glades, Gulf, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Polk, Santa Rosa, Seminole, St. Lucie, Sumter, and Volusia. 9 Educational Facilities Due to Hurricane Jeanne, classes will not be held in about half (33) of Florida s school districts, seven community colleges, and campuses at three state universities. Two additional school districts, one community college, and one university are still recovering from Hurricane Ivan. Some decisions on school, community college, and university closings for Tuesday will not be made until later this evening. Parents and students should monitor local news for the very latest information. Below is a detailed list of closings for today, September 28: K12 Public Schools Schools in the following 35 counties and the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind will be CLOSED today: o Baker, Bradford, Brevard, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Seminole, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, and Wakulla (in preparation for or recovering from Hurricane Jeanne) o Escambia and Santa Rosa (recovering from Hurricane Ivan) o St. Lucie (still recovering from Hurricane Frances and now Jeanne) Escambia and Santa Rosa counties will re-open on October 11, Community Colleges 7 Colleges are CLOSED today due to Hurricane Jeanne: o Brevard Community College o Florida Community College at Jacksonville o Indian River Community College o Lake City Community College o Palm Beach Community College o Polk Community College o South Florida Community College Still recovering from Hurricane Ivan and CLOSED today: o Pensacola Junior College (classes scheduled to resume Monday, Oct. 4) State Universities CLOSED today due to Hurricane Jeanne: o FAU St. Lucie campus (all other campuses will open) o UCF Cocoa, Melbourne, and Palm Bay campuses (all other campuses will open) o USF Lakeland campus (All other campuses are OPEN) Still recovering from Hurricane Ivan and CLOSED today: o UWF Dorms will re-open Monday, Oct. 4, with classes resuming Tuesday, Oct. 5 For more information on schools, community colleges, and universities, please visit: Brief 3 Page 9 of 12
