Floridians are encouraged to contact their local authorities for additional information as it becomes available.*** County Evacuations The following evacuations still remain in effect: Bradford: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile homes and low-lying areas. Brevard: Mandatory evacuation order for residents of the barrier islands, including Merritt Island, as well as residents of mobile and manufactured homes and those living in low-lying, flood prone areas. Citrus: Mandatory evacuation order for low-lying areas, mobile homes and all areas west of Hwy 19. Columbia: Voluntary evacuation order for low-lying areas Escambia: Mandatory evacuation order remains in effect for Area I. Hamilton: Voluntary evacuation order for mobile homes and low-lying areas. Hardee: Mandatory evacuation order for low-lying areas, mobile homes and homes previously damaged. Indian River: Mandatory evacuation order remains in effect for barrier islands only. Martin: Mandatory evacuation order for all barrier islands, manufactured and/or mobile homes; Those living in areas within one (1) mile of navigable waterways are strongly advised to find shelter elsewhere. Proof of residency, ownership or authority must be presented for access to the Key. Property owners may bring no more than two (2) people with them to help secure their property. 3 County Re-Entry Escambia County (Cont d): o Pensacola Beach Key will be open from 8:00 a.m. CDT to 5:00 p.m. CDT. Residents, property managers, leaseholders, business owners or property owner representatives of Perdido Key are allowed to secure their property and get personal belongings. Vehicles must have a Santa Rosa Island authority sticker on their vehicle, proof of ownership or authority for access to the Pensacola Beach. Property owners may bring no more than two (2) people with them to help secure their property. Okaloosa County: Residents and property owners must bring a driver s license; military ID; state-issued, non-driver ID; or US passport as proof of identity. A utility bill, voter registration card, library card or secondary form of ID may be required if the primary ID does not show an Okaloosa Island address. Santa Rosa County: Pedestrian traffic only will be allowed onto Navarre Beach from 7:00 a.m. CDT to 2:00 p.m. CDT daily. Residents must have their Navarre Beach ID card in order to gain access. Northeast Florida Roads open in Clay, Dixie, Duval, Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Union and Taylor counties. Alachua U.S. 27/41 three miles south of Archer; SR 26 west of SR 222 intersection northwest of Gainesville; and SR 121 past CR 156 and 166th Street. U.S. 129 from one mile north of Trenton to County Road 307. Levy SR 47 about a half mile north of U.S. 129 (one lane blocked). Florida Panhandle Roads open in Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Wakulla and Washington counties. Escambia SR 292 Perdido Key Road; Bob Sykes Bridge, with exception of emergency vehicles; SR 8 (I-10) Escambia Bay Bridge; and Millview Bayou Bridge (SR 298). Santa Rosa SR 399 Navarre Bridge causeway on Santa Rosa Island; A ferry service is in operation to carry residents/property owners back and forth to inspect their property. I.D. required. Brevard U.S. 1 south of Malabar Road in Brevard County (one lane is open); One westbound lane of SR 518 (Eau Gallie Blvd.); One eastbound lane of SR 518 between US1 and SR A1A; and U.S. 1 between the Indian River County line and U.S. 192; the only detour is I-95. Orange The center and outside lanes of Maitland Blvd (SR 414). Seminole U.S. 17/92 along Lake Monroe north of Sanford. Southern Counties Roads open in Dade and Monroe counties. Turnpike Turnpike is open. 9 Educational Facilities Due to Hurricane Jeanne, classes will not be held in about half (33) of Florida s school districts, seven community colleges, and campuses at three state universities. Two additional school districts, one community college, and one university are still recovering from Hurricane Ivan. Some decisions on school, community college, and university closings for Tuesday will not be made until later this evening. Parents and students should monitor local news for the very latest information.
