Same Sex Parenthood: A Very Personal Choice At New York Fertility Services, we celebrate the fact that many same-sex couples wish to become parents. The choice to become a parent is a very personal one and we understand the inherent issues many in the LGBT community face before, during and even after making this life-changing decision. The process can be quite daunting and complex, involving fertility procedures, third party agencies for egg donors and surrogates, as well as sperm banks and legal professionals. We have brought all the pieces of the puzzle together to make the process more efficient and as simple as possible. We are here to guide you - every step of the way. In fact, we are extremely proud of having helped many LGBT single men and women and same sex couples have their first child and even add children to their growing families. And we ve been highly successful at doing so for more than 30 years! Chloe is turning 4 this May and I am beyond in love with this precious soul. You gave me life and you answered my prayers. We owe it all to you. -Maggie
Olivia is growing every day - what a beautiful baby girl she is. We are ready to try to give her a little brother or sister! We are really grateful for all your care and you are the only doctor we trust. Patricia & Kellen Why New York Fertility Services? Our founder and Medical Director, Dr. Joel Batzofin, is a Harvard-trained and internationally recognized expert in the field of reproductive medicine and has decades of experience helping individuals and couples in the LGBT community conceive via In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and 3rd Party Reproduction, including egg/sperm donation and surrogacy. Dr. Batzofin takes his time with each patient to better understand their needs and to make them feel comfortable and valued. What also sets us apart is our state-of-the-art lab, which is run by a PhD-level clinical embryologist with more than 20 years of experience and 10 years of clinical research behind him. The combined experience of these two specialists totals more than 50 years and has yielded a very high patient success rate. We offer a holistic approach to fertility treatment in a boutique setting that incorporates acupuncture, herbal treatments, Maya abdominal massage and psychological counseling, along with the latest, cutting-edge procedures to help you achieve your goal. We are fully accredited by the Joint Commission, which is nationally recognized as the Gold Seal of Approval in healthcare; undergoing a thorough and rigorous review of quality and safety in order to achieve this accreditation. New York Fertility Services remains committed to maintaining these high standards of care and excellence every day. Our caring and knowledgeable team of professionals will help you choose the right treatment for your case. We keep waiting to a minimum and handle everything from fertility solutions, medical treatment and related third party services all under one roof to make your experience comfortable, efficient and hassle-free. We accept many insurances and for those without insurance coverage, we offer several discounted IVF packages, as well as a money back guarantee program, and access to financing to help make fertility treatment more affordable and accessible. Our billing staff will address your financial questions and concerns so you understand exactly what your costs for treatment will be no hidden fees. Learn more by visiting our website at or call today for your initial consultation to start your journey toward parenthood!
Egg Donation Many patients opt to use eggs provided by another source. This is a frequently prescribed treatment option for those who are older, have failed multiple IVF attempts or chromosomal abnormalities. It s also essential for some members of the LGBT community to start their families. We have a large database of potential donors who are ready now to work with our patients and who represent all ethnicities, backgrounds and education levels. All egg donors have undergone a rigorous screening process that ensures they are medically and emotionally cleared to be in our program, including blood work and infectious disease screening as well as a psychological evaluation. Our patients can search our egg donor database to learn about potential donors. On file to view are baby pictures, current photographs as well as photos of donors throughout their lives. We also provide demographic information and background information on education and personal interests so that patients can choose the best donor for their needs. Surrogacy This is a useful treatment option for patients who have abnormal or absent uterus, as well as a medical illness that precludes pregnancy. It is also necessary for single males or gay male couples to use a surrogate in order to have a child. We have a database of healthy, pre-screened women who are ready now to be surrogates and willing to embark on this exciting journey with you. All of our surrogates undergo a battery of tests and screenings to ensure that they are healthy, both physically and emotionally, to carry and deliver the intended parent(s) child. You can browse photos and personal profiles of our surrogates to find the one who best suits your needs. If you choose the surrogacy option, we always recommend that both parties retain individual, outside legal counsel to pave the way for a smooth and happy experience. We partner with a very reputable and experienced surrogacy attorney who can help you with this important step. At New York Fertility Services, we have decades of experience in handling surrogacy cases safely and effectively. There are many paths to conception and at New York Fertility Services, we will help you evaluate each one and select the course that s right for you. Dr. Joel Batzofin
Gender Selection There are many reasons why parents may wish to pre-select the gender of their future child or children. While wives tales have been passed down through the ages as to how to ensure the sex of a child, none are scientifically viable. But now, due to cutting edge advances in medicine and technology, gender selection is possible. At New York Fertility Services, we offer in vitro fertilization with PGD (pre-implantation genetic diagnosis) involving only male or only female embryos which yields pregnancies with a near 100% assurance of the desired gender. While some may frown on the practice of gender selection, we believe it is an individual s or couple s right to choose. And we support that right by providing the technology necessary to make gender selection a reality for our patients, if so desired. I m the proud mother of two beautiful and healthy IVF babies. Having experienced other clinics and then subsequently being treated by Dr. Batzofin, a lot of the stresses were diminished because he is a doctor who cares, believes in cutting edge treatments and has a wonderful way about him and so does his staff! -Colleen W.
Singles While we have aided thousands of couples in their quest to become parents, parenthood need not be limited to married couples or domestic partners. Over the years, we have worked with an increasing number of single men and women who have chosen to start their families on their own. Helping these men and women experience the joy of becoming a parent is very gratifying. Call or come in to New York Fertility Services today to learn how we can help you start your family. My experience at New York Fertility Services was wonderful; it was truly a life- altering experience. I felt supported and nurtured throughout the entire process. I was able to relax, knowing I had a team of knowledgeable, committed professionals looking out for me. I consider NYFS part of my extended family and I will be forever grateful that they were able to make this miracle happen for me. -Meaghan No Age Limit In order to skew success rates and statistics in their favor, many fertility clinics choose to work with men and women under a certain age or who have only had one or two failed IVF cycles. At New York Fertility Services, we believe people of all ages or who have experienced multiple failed cycles can become parents. This is why we have no age limit or FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) cut-off, as well as working with those patients who have undergone many IVF treatments without success. We want to help everyone experience the joy of parenthood, if possible, so we evaluate each patient individually and develop a treatment that s right for you. We truly do treat people, not numbers!
Sperm Donation Many single or lesbian women want to experience the joys of pregnancy. For those women and couples, we recommend intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF) using donor sperm. We work with reputable and fully licensed cryo banks and have helped many of our patients find the appropriate donor sperm they need to start their family. Donors can be viewed on line and patients can learn physical characteristics as well as family history, education, hobbies and interests. Our partner cryo banks ensure that all sperm donors are guaranteed to be free of genetic diseases, STD s, HIV and other illnesses. Our son, Benjamin has given us so much joy and is honestly the greatest blessing in our life. His smile lights up his face and the room and fills our hearts with more love than we ever knew existed. We will never be able to say enough wonderful things about our experience with Dr. Batzofin and his staff nor will we be able to thank them enough. -Ariana
Joel Batzofin, MD, FACOG Founder & Medical Director Dr. Joel Batzofin is an internationally recognized expert in Assisted Reproductive Technology and has more than 30 years of experience in the field. After graduating from medical school in South Africa, Batzofin immigrated to the United States in the late 1970 s and has since trained and worked at some of the finest universities and institutions in the country, including Harvard Medical School, Baylor College of Medicine, Stanford University and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Over the course of his career, he has been instrumental in the births of more than 10,000 babies via IVF and third party procedures and has successfully helped thousands of individuals and couples from all over the world recognize their dreams of parenthood. Batzofin says about his chosen career, Like all walks of life, it certainly has its share of challenges. However the rewards are great. To hold a baby that once was a fresh embryo from a lab or a frozen embryo thawed and implanted is truly a reminder of the incredible gift of life! I love what I do and am fortunate to have done it at a very exciting time in the history of Reproductive Medicine, in one of the most amazing cities in the world New York City! Dr. Joel Batzofin is unique in that he is accessible to his patients by ; as well as in person and by telephone, believing that they deserve his attention and expertise in a timely manner throughout their treatment. He exemplifies customized, personalized care for all of his patients.
