3 Flagship Telecare Flagship Telecare is our 24 hour alarm service. When you install an alarm in your home, you ll benefit from the reassurance that help is available 24 hours a day, at the touch of a button. We currently support over 14,000 people living in private and public sector homes. We also provide other monitored sensors such as fall detectors, personal intruder detectors, smoke detectors and flood detectors. How does the alarm work? Our alarm unit works alongside your telephone and can be fitted anywhere in your home where there is a telephone point and an electric socket close by. You can use the alarm whenever you need help for example when you feel unwell, have fallen or are concerned about someone at your door. The alarm will connect to our 24 hour call centre. If you re well enough to speak to the operator, they will assess the situation and help you straightaway. The pendant can be used up to 50 metres from the base unit so if you re unable to speak to us, in another room or in the garden, we will know that you re calling us and will arrange for some help. We may call a relative, friend, doctor or the emergency services. 3

5 Available to anyone Flagship Telecare is available to vulnerable people of any age including older people, people suffering from physical disabilities and mental health issues and people at risk from domestic violence or harassment. Affordable peace of mind At around 3 per week many people are surprised at the low cost of Flagship Telecare. There is a one-off installation charge and rental costs are charged every quarter. Payment can be made by Direct Debit and VAT exemption may apply to chronically sick or disabled people. Finally, we are accredited to the independent Telecare Services Association s Code of Practice to offer you a qualityassured service. What next? 6 Independent living through Telecare solutions Flagship Telecare offers a range of non-intrusive sensors which are monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, enabling people to live independently for as long as possible. Popular sensors include: Wireless smoke detector - provides increased reassurance by raising an alarm at the monitoring centre whilst also activating a local audible alarm. Falls detector - utilises an intelligent two-stage detection process in order to identify a genuine fall. It registers an emergency and sends a radio signal to the home unit, which then initiates a call at the monitoring centre. Medication dispenser - provides automatic access to medication over a 28 day period, providing audible and visual alerts to the user each time the medication should be taken. If the user fails to access the medication, an alert is raised at the monitoring centre. Carbon Monoxide detector - immediately alerts the monitoring centre, whilst also activating a local audible alarm when dangerous CO emissions have been detected. Bogus caller/panic button - is ideal for location by a doorway when using as a bogus caller button or in other areas of a dwelling when using as a panic button. Temperature extremes sensor - monitors for excessively high and low temperatures and a rapid rate of rise in temperature. 6

7 Wireless PIR - can be used for both intruder and inactivity monitoring. Property exit sensor - provides a real time alert when a customer has walked out of their door and not returned, as well as alerting the monitoring centre when a customer has left an external door open for a specified period of time. Pressure mat - can be used for inactivity and intruder monitoring. Bed/chair occupancy sensor - can alert the monitoring centre when a customer has not returned after a pre-determined period of time. Natural gas detector - provides an alert to the danger of gas leaks. DDA pager solutions - immediately alerts Telecare users or their in-home carers when a Telecare alarm is generated. Sounder beacon - combines visual indication, together with a loud siren in order to alert people with hearing difficulties to a certain type of alarm activation for example, a smoke detector or to an incoming telephone call.
