4 Agreement (Please read the following statements carefully) Employment application in Canada 4 OUTSIDE EMPLOMET Personnel employed on a full-time basis may not engage in work for others, or on their own, outside of the normal working hours established by this Company unless such work is not detrimental to this Company s interests. Outside employment in engineering, planning, architecture, land surveying and other allied professional and technical services provided by this Company is not permitted, either individually or for another firm, unless such employment is not in conflict with this Corporation and has the express written approval of a Group Company President. In addition, no employee may have an ownership interest in another firm providing these services, unless such firm is publicly traded on a national stock exchange. Any employee offered outside employment by others, or otherwise considering outside employment shall inform his or her supervisor and the Corporation s Ethics and Compliance Officer of the character and amount of work and the circumstances surrounding such employment. If it is decided that such employment is in conflict with the interests of this Company, the employee will be expected to decline the offer or individual work. Failure to comply with this policy shall result in termination or suspension of employment with this Company. PROPRIETAR IFORMATIO All work performed belongs to Atkins, and not to any individual working for the Company. Also, specifications and reports generally belong to the Company, even though prepared for a client. Any work produced or generated by an employee becomes the property of Atkins, or any of its subsidiaries. Any inventions or ideas which could be subject to patent and/or copyright laws of Canada and are created during the term of employment remain Atkins property.
