Korea has traditionally encouraged the use of arbitration to resolve disputes between domestic parties. Before this arbitration was commenced, Yulchon successfully defended the client against relevant injunction proceedings before the Korean court. A KCAB arbitration, sited in Seoul, relating to a construction project between Korean and Cambodian companies. An ICC arbitration, sited in London, between a major US mobile technologies company and an Indonesian media company. A CIETAC arbitration, between a Korean company and an Omani company relating to distribution agreements. An arbitration before the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre, sited in Hanoi, between a Vietnamese company and a joint venture comprising a Vietnamese company and a Korean company regarding a dispute on real estate development. A KCAB arbitration, sited in Seoul, between a Korean company and a US company in the entertainment sector. The arbitration was also the subject of preliminary court proceedings in California. An ad hoc UNCITRAL arbitration, sited in Seoul, between a major Korean broadcasting company and a UK broadcasting solution provider. The dispute relates to licensing rights and international telecommunications and involved preliminary injunction cases before the Korean courts. An ICC arbitration, sited in London, concerning a dispute between a Korean telecommunications company and a South-Asian telecommunications company. An ICDR arbitration, sited in New Jersey, between a major Korean construction company and a US joint venture relating to breaches of a construction agreement for a project in Afghanistan. An ICC arbitration, sited in Seoul, between a European oil and gas storage company against a Korean company in relation to a dispute over a joint venture. An ICDR arbitration, sited in Seoul, between a Korean equipment manufacturer and a US distributor relating to distribution agreements. A SIAC arbitration, sited in Singapore, between a Korean steel company and an English trading company relating to a letter of credit claim. A SRIA arbitration, sited in Geneva, between a Korean biotechnology company and a multinational pharmaceutical company relating to licensing. A KCAB arbitration, sited in Korea, between a German manufacturer and a Korean distributor. Numerous other KCAB and ad hoc arbitrations between domestic Korean companies sited in Seoul.

6 Professionals Lee, Young Seok Partner T _ F _ E _ yslee@yulchon.com Young Seok Lee leads the international dispute resolution team at Yulchon. He has handled international arbitration cases in various fields of industry, including international trade, distributorship, construction, engineering, and shipbuilding. He is a member of the ICC Korea international arbitration committee, the KCAB international advisory board and the executive committee of the Korean Arbitrators Association. Mr. Lee is also a director of the Korean Council of International Arbitration. He regularly speaks on international dispute resolution and also sits as an arbitrator. 7 Professionals Kim, Sae Youn Partner T _ F _ E _ kimsy@yulchon.com Sae Youn Kim is a partner at Yulchon, who practices primarily in the areas of litigation and arbitration law with an emphasis on commercial and international law. Before joining Yulchon, she served as a judge at various Korean district courts including the Seoul District Court, the Daejeon District Court, and the Suwon District Court.
