Graduates of UWA s Online master s degree certification programs in education are eligible for a reciprocal certificate based on either the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification s (NASDTEC) Interstate Contract or UWA s National Council of Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accredited programs. History (Certification) must complete at least nine hours of coursework in U.S. History and nine hours of coursework in non-u.s. History. The nine hours of U.S. History must include courses covering both pre- and post-civil War U.S. History. TOTAL REQUIRED 37 Non-Certification To be admitted to this program, the prospective student must meet all requirements for admission to the School of Graduate Studies. Teacher certification is not necessary for this degree program. However, students in this program must concentrate in the same field as their undergraduate major. If a student wishes to change fields, they must contact the department chairperson in the new field about undergraduate course work that may be required to complete any deficiencies that may exist in the new discipline.
