4 The Rohrer College of Business MBA Pre-MBA Program Because of our high academic standards, applicants to the MBA Program are expected to have an appropriate background with demonstrated proficiency in mathematics, economics, and various business courses. However, prospective students who have not completed the required foundation courses, or their equivalents, may enroll as Pre-MBA students. This status allows students to complete any required foundation courses at undergraduate tuition rates. Even with an engineering master s degree, I quickly realized the need for basic business skills which the Rohrer MBA can offer. Michael Lynch MS '06, MBA '08 Research Engineer Exxon Mobil MBA Program Students meeting all MBA admission requirements, except for necessary foundation courses, may be admitted directly to the MBA Program. They may complete the foundation courses along with the graduate curriculum as long as the foundation courses are not prerequisites. Graduate tuition rates apply to all courses taken by students matriculated in the MBA Program. Online Program I knew that I would have highly qualified faculty as I did in the undergraduate business program. Crystalee Gorski MBA '09 Compensation Analyst Lockheed Martin Rowan designed this program to fit the busy schedules of working adults who require a part-time option, but desire the fastest route to their MBA. Students may take two courses per semester to earn six credits each term while still focusing on one course at a time. These six credits also qualify students for federal financial aid. The Online MBA Program is administered through the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) and maintains the following advantages: AACSB accredited faculty; access to all Rowan campus resources; membership in the Rohrer MBA virtual community; invitations to Rohrer MBA alumni and networking activities; 24/7 tech support; faculty and CPCE advisement. Applicants to the Online MBA Program must meet the same requirements as students in the traditional program.

5 Programs to fit your goals and lifestyle Accelerated Program Students may complete the full MBA Program within one year by attending two full semesters and a summer session. This option requires special guidance from the MBA Program Director and is not recommended for working students or students with other outside commitments. Project-Based Learning The opportunity to work on real-world projects with local businesses and organizations is an important and outstanding feature of the Rohrer MBA Program. Specializations Working in teams, students are assigned to special projects where they meet with local executives and professionals to assist the business or resolve workplace problems. Under the guidance of experienced faculty, students will provide expertise in developing business plans, marketing plans, information systems solutions, and/or financial analysis. The Rohrer College of Business operates a business incubator in the Rowan South Jersey Technology Park. New start-up businesses offer additional opportunities for Rohrer MBA students to assist in the development of business plans. This practical, hands-on experience is a valuable asset for students seeking career advancement. Rohrer MBA students may earn a specialization to accommodate special interests or career goals by taking three courses in a discipline such as Management, Accounting, Marketing, Finance or Entrepreneurship. 6 The Rohrer College of Business MBA MBA Post-Graduate Certificate Graduates of the Rohrer MBA Program, or other AACSB accredited MBA Programs, have the opportunity to obtain a certificate in a new specialization of their choice. This certificate allows the student to pursue an area of study that will enhance their professional qualifications in new fields of endeavor. For example, an MBA accountant may want to focus on Finance or Management. Four additional courses would be required for a certificate in this specialized area and upon completion the certificate would be added to the student s transcript. Saturday Classes Rohrer MBA students may nearly complete their entire MBA by attending only Saturday classes or may mix Saturday classes with conveniently scheduled evening classes. Evening classes begin at 6:30 p.m. to accommodate the working student s busy schedule. Hassle-free parking is available on Saturdays and in the evenings. Computer Facilities The Rohrer College of Business has three computer labs, two for classroom teaching and one open lab available seven days a week. Each lab features appropriately equipped computers featuring current technology. They are linked via a Novell local area network and to Rowan s fiber optic network for and Internet access. Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS, Microsoft Visual Studio, QuickBooks, Access and other popular business software packages are available in the labs and for demonstration and presentation purposes in the smart classrooms. Additional labs are available throughout the university campus. An online library and CD-ROM databases are available for all types of business research. The library database is accessible from home as well as on campus. Academic Advising Academic advising is an integral part of the Rohrer MBA Program. The MBA staff is available to answer questions and advise students throughout their academic careers.

7 Your success is our priority Graduate Assistantships The full-time graduate assistantship for matriculated students provides a tuition waiver and a stipend for an academic program of study that culminates in a graduate degree. The student is responsible for all university fees. In return for the tuition waiver and the stipend, the graduate assistant enrolls for a minimum course load of nine credits per semester, maintains a minimum grade point average of 3.00, and carries out work assignments in an academic or administrative department of the University for 20 hours per week for the term of the assistantship. In certain years, part-time graduate assistantships for matriculated students are available requiring a 10-hour work assignment per week and a tuition waiver for six credit hours per semester. The Rowan Campus The Rowan University campus is located in historic Glassboro, New Jersey. Spacious lawns, large trees, paved walkways and architecture ranging from traditional to futuristic give the campus an open, comfortable feeling. With several supermarkets, retail shopping centers, restaurants and a mall nearby you can find just about everything you need locally. Plus, you re only a short ride from the nightlife and attractions of Philadelphia and the Jersey shore. Financial Aid There are a variety of financial aid programs available at Rowan. These programs are funded by the federal government, the state of New Jersey (for New Jersey students only), Rowan University, the Rowan Foundation and other outside groups. Types of aid include: grants, loans, federal and institutional work-study and internal and external scholarships.
