6 strategy for its redevelopment with: - a new organisational structure with clear leadership roles, accountability and lines of reporting with a management team at the top - redesigned services to increase treatment capacity from per week to up to 40 per week putting the service back into a financial break even position - a new stimulation protocol for fresh IVF/ICSI that has led to substantial savings in non-pay costs (about 150 per cycle) - four new sub-committees with responsibility for Quality and Governance, Research and Innovation, Education and Staff Development, and Fund raising and Endowments - weekly staff meetings to improve dialogue and information disseminationand with all major decisions discussed at these meetings before ratification by the managment team Endometriosis I played a leading role in the development of this tertiary referral service that provides advanced management of Endometriosis for the whole of the North West of England. The service enjoys the support of Urological, Colorectal, Pain management and Counselling colleagues. There are monthly MDT meetings of all involved specialists. Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery I am part of the Advanced Laparoscopy Surgery Group that has developed advanced minimal access surgery options for benign gynaecological conditions with provision of Laparoscopic treatment of pelvic and rectovaginal endometriosis, hysterectomy, myomectomy, sterilisation reversal, cervical cerclage. Emergency Gynaecology I am responsible for the development of a centralised Emergency Gynaecology service that incorporates both Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology. Initiated robust biochemical and theatre support for the service with a 2hr turn-around time for hcg and Progesterone. Ambulatory management of hyperemesis gravidarum I introduced ambulatory management of hyperemesis to this Hospital to reduce admissions for this condition and the reliance on scarce inpatient bed space. Outpatient surgical management of miscarriage I introduced outpatient surgical management of miscarriage to this Hospital to facilitate surgical management of miscarriage and reduce reliance on scarce inpatient and theatre capacity. One-Stop Subfertility Clinic I developed one-stop evaluation and treatment of couples with subfertility to expedite their assessment and treatment and prevent unnecessary delays in their journey caused by repeated outpatient visits. 6 Conferences organised Endometriosis and Adhesions in Gynaecological Practice, March 2009
