2 EVALUATION PROCESS Training evaluation has a number of purposes: it provides feedback for course improvement, training design, and training structure; it identifies trainee s knowledge, skills, and values; it provides data for individual accountability; and it identifies facilitators or barriers to achieving program goals. Training evaluation does not establish a direct cause and effect relationship between a training program and agency or client outcomes. To evaluate the Advanced Leadership Development for Supervisors (ALDS) training series, three evaluation levels are being used. These evaluation levels include tracking, knowledge/skill, and transfer of learning. This document provides information the training evaluation level. 1 P a g e
3 EVALUATION LEVEL: TRACKING The evaluation level of tracking is to analyze the participants who have attended the training series. This information collected at this level includes demographic data of the participants and professional development information and is collected to provide a snapshot of the demographics of those that attended this training. This demographic information provides a lens for viewing subsequent training evaluation data. In total there are 11 participants in the ALDS training program. Please note that some tables and chart totals may not equal 100% due to rounding error. Gender of Participants As shown in Figure 1, 73% of ALDS participants are female, and 27% are male. 2 P a g e
4 Ethnicity/Race As shown in Figure 2, 46% of ALDS participants are White/Caucasian, 18% are African American, 18% are Asian/Pacific Islander, and 18% are Hispanic/Latino. Age As shown in Figure 3, 28% of ALDS participants are between the ages of 26-35, 27% are between the ages of 36-45, 27% are between the ages of 46-55, and 18% are between the ages of P a g e
5 Educational Status of Participants 100% of participants have a Masters Degree. As shown in Figure 4, 82% of ALDS participants have an MSW, and 18% have an MA/MS. Title IV-E Participation As shown in Figure 5, 55% of ALDS participants participated in a Title IV-E program, while 45% did not participate in a Title IV-E program. 4 P a g e
6 License Status As shown in Figure 6, a majority, 82% of ALDS participants do not have a license, while 18% does hold a license. Of those that do hold a license, one participant has an LCSW and one person has an MFT. Length of Time in the Field of Child Welfare As shown in Figure 7, 64% of ALDS participants have worked in the field of child welfare over 5 years. 27% of ALDS participants have worked in the field of child welfare between 1 and 3 years and 9% of ALDS participants have worked in the field of child welfare between 3 to 5 years. 5 P a g e
7 Length of Time in Current Position As shown in Figure 8, 28% of ALDS participants have been in their current position between 1 and 3 years. 27% of ALDS participants have been in their current position over 5 years, 18% between 3 and 5 years, 18% between 6 months and 1 year, and 9% under 6 months. Number of Staff Currently Supervised As shown in Figure 9, 28% of ALDS participants supervise 5 employees, 18% supervise 3 employees, 18% supervise 6 employees, 18% supervise 11 to 12 employees, 9% supervise 8 employees, and 9% supervise 10 employees. 6 P a g e
8 Number of Case-Carrying Child Welfare Staff Currently Supervised As shown in Figure 10, 19% of ALDS participants supervise 2 case-carrying child welfare employees, 18% supervise 3 case-carrying child welfare employees,18% supervise 5 case-carrying child welfare employees, 18% supervise 8 case-carrying child welfare employees, 9% supervise 4 case-carrying child welfare employees, 9% supervise 10 case-carrying child welfare employees, and 9% supervise 11 to 12 case-carrying child welfare employees. 7 P a g e
