Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) - This is the website most often consulted in creating the content for the Money Guide. Excellent information on a wide variety of financial topics. Something for everyone, from credit cards to investing to protecting yourself from fraud. It also has excellent tools for budgeting. Provide contributors and their families with a modest level of income replacement upon the retirement, disability or death of a wage earner. The CPP pays benefits based on how much and how long an individual has contributed to the Plan. You must apply for CPP benefits to receive them and eligibility requirements must be met. Benefits include the CPP retirement pension and post-retirement benefit, the disability benefit, benefits for children of disabled and deceased contributors and benefits for survivors including a monthly pension and a lump-sum death benefit. Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy Phone: Website: The Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy, a division of the national charitable organization Social and Enterprise Development Innovations (SEDI), was established in 2008 to build the financial literacy of low-income Canadians.
