6 Berrigan Shire AMR Project Replaced 5,379 Meters in all four towns. Approximate Cost of project $1 million AUD. Berrigan Shire Council engaged Itron to: > Replace existing meter with AMR enabled meter using EverBlu Cyble. > Supply new Meter Reading Software (EasyRoute Host v3). > Provide Integration Services to Billing System. > Commission AMR system. > Provide AMR Training Services. > Provide Project Management Services. Itron supported local industry by engaging local contractor. 9 AMR Results Fixing Leakages in the Home EasyRoute Host provides the number of days of continuous flow above a given threshold per month. Cyble RF has helped Berrigan Shire to reduce leakages in the home. In Reading Cycle 2 of 09/10, 137 homes were sent Leakage/Constant flow notice who did not require a further notice in the following reading Cycle, indicating the leak had been fixed. 2011, Itron Inc. 9

12 UniGate: How it works Using the Everblu principle, the RF MIUs send their data spontaneously Once a day, during the night (Outside the Working Hours windows) Radio Radio M-bus Radio Radio Then the M-Bus Master is able to get these data via standard M-Bus wired protocol REQ_UD2 command 12

13 UniGate: How it works MODE EMULATION 2 M-Bus Modes MODE CONVERSION In this mode, the UniGate play the game of a full emulation of the equivalent MIU s frame in Wired M-Bus, so that You can replace a Wired MiU with a wireless MIU without changing anything You can Easily use it on an existing solution (Master, Concentrator and system) In this mode, the UniGate create a new frame Allowing the reading of all the data available in Everblu product i.e. Hourly Indexes, daily leakage alarm etc => You need to have a system able to decode and use the new data Note that it exists a third mode (Transparent mode) Plan to be used for unknown MIU (Future proof) 13

15 UniGate: How to install STEP One > Connect the UniGate to the master in order to power up the system STEP two > Read the UniGate configuration via RF communication with RFCT STEP Three > Choose an empty tab in order to add a RF Miu STEP Four > Set the parameters for this MIU (Note that you can do this for 1-4 MIU) STEP Five > Ask the UniGate to install and check the RF link Phase 1 Phase 2 STEP Six > Wait for the status sent back to RFCT by the UniGate 15
