Facilitating Medicaid eligibility determination Assisting an individual or family to access Medicaid services - Assisting individuals or families in becoming eligible for Medicaid programs such as RIte CARE and RIte CARE Plus - Gathering information and providing necessary forms in preparation for the Medicaid eligibility determination - Referring families to the local DHS Medicaid assistance office to apply for Medicaid benefits - Verifying a student's Medicaid eligibility status - Explaining Medicaid eligibility rules and the eligibility process to prospective applicants 3. School Related and Educational Activities Performing activities specific to the educational curriculum - Developing, coordinating or monitoring services related to the educational portion of a student's IEP - Attending an IEP meeting - Providing playground or lunchroom supervision - Conferring with students or parents about academics - Registering new students - Compiling report cards - Monitoring and giving standardized tests - Applying discipline activities other than those related to behavior modification services - Counseling for colleges - Discussing class schedules with students - Health education classes included as part of the general education curriculum - Performing clerical activities related to instructional or curriculum areas

Direct Medical Services Providing care, treatment and/or counseling services to students - Conducting medical/mental health assessments and preparing related reports - Conducting diagnostic tests and preparing related reports - Developing a medical plan of care for students - Providing health/mental health services contained in the IEP - Providing speech, occupational, physical therapy or personal aid services to an individual or group of students - Administering first aid or medications to a student - Providing medical or mental health counseling to an individual or group of students - Providing Immunizations both school required and those recommended for good health - Providing routine or mandated child health screens, including but not limited to vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis and EPSDT screens 5A. Transportation for non-medicaid services Assisting an individual to obtain transportation services or accompanying that individual to a service - Assisting an individual to obtain transportation to a school division athletic event, field trip or school dance - Scheduling or arranging for transportation to a job site or vocational event 5B. Transportation - related activities for Medicaid covered services Assisting an individual to obtain transportation services or accompanying that individual to a service - Scheduling or arranging for transportation services to a medical appointment - Assisting an individual to obtain transportation to a practitioner or clinic outside of the school

Non-Medicaid Translation Providing or arranging for translation services (including oral and signing services) when translation is the primary activity - Arranging for or providing translation services that assist the individual to access and understand non-medical programs and activities - Translation to explain to parents about regional vocational technical schools - Translation regarding State-mandated health screenings and general educational outreach campaigns intended for the student population - Translation to explain academic progress to a student and/or their parents 6B. Translation related to Medicaid services Providing or arranging for translation services (including oral and signing services) when translation is the primary activity - Providing translation services related to medical services - Arranging for or providing translation services that assist the individual to access and understand medical services being prescribed - Providing translation services to a child and/or their parents to explain a prescribed medical plan of care 7A. Program Planning, Policy Development and Interagency Coordination Related to Non- Medical Services Developing strategies or referral sources - Creating a list of summer jobs or part time jobs for students - Identifying gaps or duplication of non-medical to school-age children and developing strategies to improve the delivery and coordination of these services. (Example: Developing strategies or policies for school districts to assist students who need daycare services provided in order for them to attend school) - Developing procedures for tracking requests for assistance with non-medical services and the providers of such services. Developing non-medical referral sources such as a list of providers for legal aid - Evaluating the need for non-medical services related to specific populations or geographic areas - Analyzing non-medical data related to a specific program, population, or geographic area

Program Planning, Policy Development and Interagency Coordination Related to Medical Services Developing strategies or referral sources - Developing strategies to enhance medical/dental/mental health delivery systems in schools - Evaluating the need for Medicaid services in relation to specific populations or geographic areas - Developing advisory groups or medical referral sources such as directories or Medicaid providers and managed care plans to provide services to targeted population groups - Working with DHS to identify, recruit and promote the enrollment of potential Medicaid providers - Developing a list of providers of OT, ST, PT services that can be contacted by the district when the need arises 8A. Non-Medicaid Training Trainings - Coordinating, conducting or participating in training events and seminars for social, vocational or educational purposes - Attending training related to IDEA child find programs, public speaking seminars or educational conferences 8B. Medicaid Specific Training Trainings - Coordinating, conducting and participating in training events and seminars for outreach staff for the benefit of the Medicaid program - Teaching or learning about the Medicaid program - Participating in a training related to the Medicaid School-Based program, including time study trainings - Explaining to co-workers how to use the time study codes and explaining this part of the Medicaid program - Trainings regarding Medicaid claiming requirements, such as documentation of services
6 9A. Referral, Coordination and Monitoring of Non-Medicaid Services Making referrals and coordinating access to services. Monitoring services to ensure the student is receiving the prescribed service. - Making referrals and coordinating access to social services such as WIC services, SSI, and food stamps and education services such referring a student to vocational services - Monitoring the delivery of social services such as job training for students - Gathering information prior to making a non-medical referral - Participating in meetings/discussions to review a students need for scholastic, vocational and nonhealth related services - Gathering information for students about jobs or college - Arranging for meetings for social, educational or vocational purposes - Coordinating state mandated health screenings 9B. Referral, Coordination and Monitoring of Medicaid Services Making referrals and coordinating access to services.
