As a Catholic school, we teach Gospel values and ideals and provide opportunities for our students to experience and grow in their faith. Our goal is for students to become compassionate, responsible and active members of their communities. OUR SCHOOL St. Vincent de Paul High School, founded in 1916, is a small, coeducational Roman Catholic, college preparatory parish high school. We are located in Petaluma, California, one mile away from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and our partner elementary school. There are currently 289 students, (146 Male, 143 female, grades 9-12) in attendance who come from southern Sonoma County and northern Marin representing 22 different partner schools. We are a part of the Diocese of Santa Rosa and are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). Our school has a strong sense of community and support among our students, faculty and staff. In the 2008 WASC report our school was described by the visiting team as the Friendliest School in America.

Of the graduating seniors in 2015, 28 out of 95 students received one of these diplomas. Advanced Placement Results In May 2015 a total of 161 AP exams were taken in 11 subject areas. 97 students (grades 10, 11, and 12) participated in taking these tests. College Placement For the past 10 years more than 95% of our graduating class attended college. An unweighted GPA includes all grades 9-12 and is calculated on a 4.0 system. A weighted GPA includes all grades 9-12 and adds an additional point for each Honor/AP course. D grade is passing. GRADE DISTRIBUTION FOR THE CLASS OF 2015 We do not rank our students. Grade Distribution for the Class of 2015 is based on cumulative weighted GPA after six semesters 95 Seniors. 4 GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Students must earn a minimum of 240 credits to graduate, including required courses: English..40 credits Social Science and Government..30 credits Math...20 credits Science..20 credits Theology 35 credits Physical Education..20 credits Visual and Performing Arts 10 credits Computer Skills 5 credits Electives.60 credits Scholarships and Awards The class of 2015 (95 students) earned over $ 3.7 million in scholarships and grants. 21% of our graduates earned at least one scholarship. 44% of our graduates earned multiple scholarships and grants. 38% of our graduates were California Scholarship Federation Seal bearers. 51% of our graduates were members of the National Honor Society. Community Service Our Community Service Program approaches service thematically. Over the course of four years, students are encouraged to explore each of the four categories of service we have identified, expressing our CORE belief in gospel values and the inherent dignity of the human person. The four categories/themes are broad enough to include a multitude of specific projects and interests and provide endless opportunities to embrace the key principles of Catholic Social Teaching. The categories include: Health Services, Environmental Stewardship, Societal Concerns and Spiritual Works. Eventually, by the end of sophomore year, students will declare a primary focus on one of these four themes, which will be reflected in the quality of CORE service hour experiences during the second half of their high school career. All of this culminates in a rich portfolio which will drive their senior service presentation the last week of their senior year and punctuate their four years at St. Vincent de Paul High School where we Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve. Community Service Awards In % of our graduates received St. Vincent de Paul Community Service Medals for serving 200 to 500 community service hours. Athletics On average, 70% of our students participate in sports at least once in their time here, with many participating in multiple sports. Another 38% participate in sports outside of school.
