4 Goals and Objectives of the Conference Present conference has two major directions for the discussion: discussion of the problems connected with Russian accession to the WTO; discussion of bilateral EU-Russia relations after Russia accession to the WTО. Main purpose of the conference is to discuss key and the most important problems of the EU Russia relations, connected with Russia accession to the WTO. Due to the discussion of these issues participants of the conference will have the possibility to correct or change the direction of their further scientific research. The conference consists of three parts. Firstly, the plenary part which contains participation of a wide range of participants, interested in the discussion of the above-mentioned problems (students, lecturers, representatives of governmental structures and business representatives). Two major speeches (not longer than 60 minutes) will be held during the first part, followed by the line of questions-answers and discussion on the topic. Second part of the conference (Section 1) will cover the legal aspects of Russia accession to the WTO. This part is only for registered participants of the conference and does not presume any listeners. Third part (Section 2) will cover the EU-Russia economic relations. Discussion of the legal aspects of the EU-Russia visa-free dialog as one of the factors which stimulate economic activity will be held separately. Both Russian and English languages by the means of simultaneous translation will be working languages of the first day of the conference. However, only English will be the working language of the second day of the conference Organizers of the Conference IMMANUEL KANT BALTIC FEDERAL UNIVERSITY IKBFU is the most important educational and scientific center in the Kaliningrad region, one of the nine federal universities in Russia and one of the centers of the higher education and science in the North- Western Federal District in Russian Federation. CENTER OF THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU4U) EU Center at the IKBFU was created for the close cooperation between EU an Russia as a basement for discussion of issues connected with the European Union. EU4U Center has already exists since 2010, December. ASSOSIATION OF THE EUROPEAN RESEARCHERS Association of the European Researchers is an inter-regional public organization created in 1922 to unite scientists, teachers in the universities and other units of higher education, specialists working in governmental or private structures who are interested in the research regarding European area. 5 European Union Center in Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University Main purpose of the EU Center is to make the EU closer and more transparent for both University community and all citizens of the Kaliningrad region. Due to its geographic location the Kaliningrad region plays the leading part in the EU-Russia relations. Understanding of the importance of these relations is the key factor determining both teaching and research profile of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University as the leading research and education centre of the Kaliningrad region. With its aim to facilitate the EU-Russia relations EU Centre intends to develop as a platform for discussion of EU-related questions which will gather researchers and students of IKBFU as well as its partners. Thus, a network for intellectual community open for everybody interested in the European Union will be established. Center Objectives: 1. To improve qualification of IKBFU teaching and academic staff in the field of EU studies, including methodology and study courses content: 3. To promote a better understanding of EU among citizens of the region (NGOs staff, journalists, officials of both regional and municipal levels) 4. 6 WTO Law Center WTO law Center is a scientific and educational structural department without the rights of a legal entity. It was created for the organization of the scientific and educational activity and educational programs regarding issues connected with the WTO law due to the accession of Russian Federation to the WTO and further integration of Russia into the international trade system. Major activities of the WTO law Center 1. Holding of the international scientific and practical conferences, round tables and seminars regarding WTO law; 2. Joint scientific research with foreign and national professors in the WTO law field; 3. Holding of the courses for the higher education, summer schools on the WTO law for the civil servants and lawyers; 4. Participation in the education of masters on the course «Jurisprudence» on the program International and European law on the Chair on International and European law. Centre for International and European Law The main aim of the Centre is a coordination of international cooperation on behalf of the Law institute at the IKBFU. Key objectives of the Centre: Scientific research (coordination of the research activity based on mutual cooperation with partner universities in Europe). Lectures of guest professors in foreign languages. International scholarships for students. Summer Schools (three weeks courses in foreign languages for students studying law). International and national moot court competitions. Intensive courses of German language for students.
