32 Good coordination and cooperation There was very good cooperation with Nevada Department of Wildlife with sharing equipment and providing seed for both private and public lands. NDOW provided the funding for seed and application costs on several burn areas. Native Seed Company also donated 20,000 lbs of Wyoming Big Sagebrush to NDOW. Also RMEF, NV Chuckars Unlimited, MDF, and Nevada Bighorns Unlimited assisted with rehab efforts. In 2005 the Jackpot High school Ecology club, Mule Deer Foundation and NDOW planted 2,400 bitterbrush seedlings that were purchased by the Mule Deer Foundation. BLM also assisted with planting Private land owners also assisted with rehab efforts.

77 Personnel 30 Day Emergency Hires for, laborers, Archaeologists, Equipment operators. Can not rehire for up to 12 months. Can extend to 60 days. NV is not able to use AD s for ESR. Temporary Laborer and Tech positions Term employees: for Treatment implementation and Monitoring Permanent Staff in Division of Ops and WAE Fire crew members.

78 Lessons Learned Need to work on hiring personnel quicker. Need them to start implementation in August/September. Fire crew help is good but limited until fire season is over. Need to get fire line suppression rehab completed by the end of September. Contracting improved in 2007 however, we need to get fences constructed in a more timely fashion.

79 Need full cooperation of District Staff in getting g ESR plans completed. Need to identify needed treatment early in the process. Good coordination with NDOW/ Permittees and Public is needed early in the process. Avoid amendments and additional NEPA. Grazing issued need to addressed early in the process. If we think we are too busy to address issues early in the process we are kidding ourselves. Need to allow adequate time for establishment.
