1 April 2014 Upcoming Meeting April 9 th, pm Scott s Jack London Square 2 Broadway, Oakland, CA WORKING WITH THE DEFENSE LAWYER- -What All Experts Need to Know Attorney John Coker, Esq. Defense attorneys are put in a complex position. Their clients are said to be innocent, until proven guilty, yet the defense lawyer's clients have been named in a complaint, or arrested in an incident...implying otherwise. Mr. Coker will cover the specifics of how the expert can best assist the modern defense lawyer in initial contact, case administration, discovery, motion filings, evidence, jury selection, and testimony. Attorney Coker will explain how he goes about finding experts, what he looks for on the CV, in the rates and billing, and how to best report the expert's findings.
