23 Lateral Compliance Example All laterals would require a certificate of compliance to ensure that the lateral has been maintained and does not leak Burden of proof is on the owner Must test the lateral to ensure compliance (or replace the lateral) Replacements certificate is valid for 20 or 30 years Repairs/inspections - certificate is valid for 7 years Based on the San Francisco Bay code compliance Page 23 June 6, 2011
