5 TRAINING CAMP NOTES Camp roster The Senators camp roster includes 61 players: Five goaltenders, 21 defencemen and 35 forwards. Twenty-four (24) players participated in the 2015 rookie camp and tournament in Ottawa and London, Ont. The list of camp invitees is built primarily around the Senators draft. Thirty (30) players were selected by Ottawa in NHL drafts, 10 players were signed as free agents, 10 players were obtained in trades, nine players are signed to American Hockey League two-way contracts, one player is signed to an ECHL contract and one player is on an amateur tryout. The Senators season training camp roster included 57 players: Five goaltenders, 19 defencemen and 33 forwards. The list of camp invitees was built primarily around the Senators draft. Twenty-eight (28) players were selected by Ottawa in NHL drafts, 11 players were signed as free agents, 10 players were obtained in trades, seven players were on professional tryouts and one player was on an amateur tryout with the club. Rookie tournament The Senators participated in their 15th rookie camp and tournament from Sept This year s tournament was held in London, Ont., with the Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs also participating. Team: Ottawa (NHL) Draft: Chicago s third-round pick (73rd overall) Acquired: Traded from Colorado in exchange for Brian Elliott on 2/18/ : Earned his first shutout victory (30 saves) of the season on Oct. 13 at Florida (1-0 win) Made 28 saves to earn a victory on Oct. 16 vs. Colorado (5-3 win), ensuring him of at least one career win against each National Hockey League club Was named the NHL s Second Star of the Week on Nov. 10 after earning a record of 2-0-1, one shutout, a 0.65 goals-against average and a.981 save percentage over three consecutive starts from Nov. 4 to Nov. 8 Played in the 400th game of his NHL career on Jan. 17 vs. Carolina (3-2 loss) Was the monthly Molson Cup award winner for November and December Sustained a left hand injury on Jan. 21 vs. Toronto (4-3 win) that caused him to miss a total of 19 regular-season games Recorded his third career post-season shutout, his second with Ottawa, and the 11th in Senators franchise history when he made 28 saves in a 1-0 Game 4 victory vs. Montreal on April 22 Won twice in four playoff starts, posting a 0.97 GAA. Born: Feb. 14, 1992 (Toronto) Team: Boston University (H-East) Acquired: Was signed to a two-year entry-level contract on May : Concluded his collegiate career by competing in his junior season with the Boston University Terriers (Hockey East) establishing new career highs in wins (25), shutout victories (one), goals-against-average (2.18) and games (35) Concluded his BU career ranking second among all-time Terriers in save percentage (.921) and fifth in goals-against average (2.55)...
