Fall HP 3343 Administration in Sports Medicine Course description: Students will learn various issues, policies, and procedures involved in administration of sports medicine settings. This includes leadership theories, facility design, personnel management, legal issues, equipment, budget, record keeping, healthcare services and public relations. Fall HP 4310 Clinical Education V Course description: Students will be assessed on psychomotor skills learned from the previous semesters. They will also be assigned to clinical education rotations under the direct supervision of a clinical instructor. Students must complete a minimum of 225 clinical education hours. Summer HP 1420 Human Anatomy 2014 Course description: An introductory course designed to teach the basic life systems in the human body. Detailed examination of the circulatory, muscular, skeletal, respiratory, and endocrine systems will be emphasized. Summer LF 1156 Beginning Racquetball Course description: Equipment selection, safety procedures, serves, strokes, volley, court strategy, rules, and actual play are combined to give the basics needed for enjoyable and knowledgeable participation. Spring HP 2142 Injury Assessment of the Upper Extremity: Lab Course description: This lab provides the student with the skills used to evaluate injuries and special problems of the upper extremity, head, and neck. Spring HP 2342 Injury Assessment of the Upper Extremity Course description: This course provides the student with information and skills used to evaluate injuries and special problems of the upper extremity, head, and neck. Students will acquire a basic understanding and skills in palpation methods, manual muscle tests, neurological tests, and special tests. In addition, students will learn pathological and etiological information for a variety of athletic injuries, and observe surgeries. Spring HP 3141 Therapeutic Exercise Laboratory Course description: This is a laboratory for instruction of psychomotor skills to accompany and be taken concurrently with HP 3341, Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise. Spring HP 3341 Therapeutic Exercise Course description: A study of clinical sports therapy techniques used in the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries to athletes and other active populations. To be taken concurrently with HP Summer LF 1134 Fitness Theory and Practice 2013 Course description: The purpose of this course is to introduce methods of fitness theory and practice. The course will concentrate on various activities designed to increase physical activity and thus overall fitness. These activities will consist of various recreational activities, games, labs, and weight training exercises implementing various musculoskeletal and cardiovascular conditioning equipment. The primary goal of the course is to learn how to apply the concepts of physical fitness to you. Gardner-Webb University Spring ATTR 332 Rehabilitation and Reconditioning of Athletic Injuries 2 of 7

3 Course description: This course will provide the athletic training student with the knowledge, skills, and values they must possess to plan, implement, document, and evaluate the efficacy of therapeutic exercise programs for the rehabilitation and reconditioning of the injuries and illnesses of athletes and others involved in physical activity. Prerequisite ATTR: 325. Spring ATTR 101 Introduction to Athletic Training Course description: A course designed to introduce prospective athletic training students to the profession of athletic training, its governing organizations, daily responsibilities and occupational opportunities. Successful completion of this course with its associated observation hours is a requirement for application to the athletic training educational program. Fall ATTR 400 Athletic Training Clinical V Course description: In this course each student will demonstrate proficiency in cognitive and psychomotor skills learned in ATTR 332 and 404. Athletic training students shall perform skills in their assigned clinical experience commensurate with their level of education, competence and experience. Prerequisite: ATTR 301. Bryan College Spring EHS 349 Therapeutic Exercise 2007 Course description: This is an introductory course providing the student with skill development and a knowledge base in therapeutic exercise for rehabilitation and preventing musculoskeletal athletic injuries. Includes principles of strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, and other beneficial techniques. Specifically designed to train the athletic training student in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective behaviors primarily in domain IV (Rehabilitation) of Athletic Training Competencies. Prerequisites: EHS 305 and 310. Spring EHS 268 Athletic Training Clinical Experience II 2007 Course description: Students will develop skills in advanced taping and wrapping techniques, the use and fitting of protective equipment and splints, and skills in anthropometric measurements and vital signs. They will also be assigned to clinical rotations under the direct supervision of an ACI. Students must complete a minimum of 150 clinical hours. Prerequisites: EHS 267. Spring EHS 368 Athletic Training Clinical Experience IV 2007 Course description: Students will be assessed on psychomotor skills learned from the previous semester (general medical, head, neck, and trunk evaluations). They will also be assigned to clinical rotations under the direct supervision of an ACI. Students must complete a minimum of 150 clinical hours. Prerequisites: EHS 367. Spring EHS 468 Athletic Training Clinical Experience VI 2007 Course description: Students will be assessed on psychomotor skills learned from the previous semester (therapeutic modalities and general medicine). They will also be assigned to clinical rotations under the direct supervision of an ACI. Students must complete a minimum of 150 clinical hours. Prerequisite: EHS 467. Fall EHS 267 Athletic Training Clinical Experience 2006 Course description: Students are introduced to the profession of athletic training, the athletic training educational program, and to basic taping and wrapping techniques. They will be assigned to clinical education rotations under the direct supervision of an ACI. Students must complete a minimum of 150 clinical hours. Prerequisites: EHS 200, 205, and of 7

4 Fall EHS 367 Athletic Training Clinical Experience III 2006 Course description: Students will be assessed on psychomotor skills learned from the previous semester (evaluation fundamentals, upper and lower extremity evaluations, body composition, and skin disorders). They will also be assigned to clinical rotations under the direct supervision of an ACI. Students must complete a minimum of 150 clinical hours. Prerequisites: EHS 268. Fall EHS 467 Athletic Training Clinical Experience V 2006 Course description: Students will be assessed on psychomotor skills learned from the previous semester (therapeutic exercise). They will also be assigned to clinical rotations under the direct supervision of an ACI. Students must complete a minimum of 150 clinical hours. Prerequisite: EHS 368. Fall EHS 423 Athletic Training Practicum 2006 Course description: This course places the upper level athletic training student in two different professional settings, a high school and a sports medicine clinic. The student works under the supervision of certified Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, and Team Physicians, allowing the student to gain practical experience and to interact with current professionals in the sports medicine and athletic training fields.
