1 ÖZETLER (1) Plastic Injection Parameter Setting for Mold Changeover via Soft Computing Techniques Mahmut Kemal KARASU (2) A Neural Network Approach for Measurement of Total Productive Maintenance Effectiveness in Manufacturing Systems Ebru TURANOĞLU BEKAR (3) An Economic Approach to the Control of High-Quality Processes Araş. Gör. Şebnem YILMAZ Since industrial developments increase day by day and continuous improvement come into question more and more, applying Shewhart control charts can be inappropriate in some situations, especially when they are used to monitor high quality processes. Cumulative count of conforming control charts (CCC control charts), are alternative approaches to eliminate these inappropriatenesses and are based on cumulative count of conforming items between two defective ones. In this study, after giving a brief information about high quality processes and CCC control charts, a mathematical model for economic design of CCC control chart and an application of this model are presented. (4) Quick Ergonomic Assessment with OCRA Araş.
2 (5) Nested Simulated Annealing Approach to Periodic Routing Problem of a Retail Distribution System Araş. Gör. Alper HAMZADAYI This study introduces a real-life variant of a periodic travelling salesman problem (V_PTSP) for a retail distribution system. A warehouse is allocated to serve specified retail districts where a large number of retailers are located and the deliveries are planned according to the visiting frequency of each retailer. The objective is to determine daily vehicle routes over a given planning period adhering to the visiting frequency restrictions while minimizing the total distance travelled. Initially, the V_PTSP is formulated as an integer programming model. Since this model can only solve small size problems, a nested simulated annealing procedure is developed for solving large size V_PTSPs. A series of computational tests are performed for evaluating the performance of the heuristic procedure. The results show that the proposed approach gives good solutions in reasonably short computation times. (6) An Analysis of Fully Fuzzy Linear Programming with Fuzzy Decision Variables and Application to Reverse Logistics Network Design Araş. Gör. Kemal SUBULAN Recently, there is a growing attention by the researchers to solve and interpret the analysis of fully fuzzy linear programming (FFLP) problems in which all the parameters as well as the decision variables are considered as fuzzy numbers. Actually, obtaining fuzzy efficient solutions may seems more attractive for the decision maker(s) instead of finding crisp solutions in a fully uncertain decision making environment. However, there is a lack of both practical applications and relevant analysis on fuzzy mathematical programming problems with fuzzy decision variables. Therefore, this paper presents a fully fuzzy mathematical model for a generic reverse logistics (RL) network design problem with a comprehensive literature review & classification on fuzzy mathematical programming including fuzzy decision variables. In order to solve the proposed fully fuzzified RL network design model, newly developed different solution approaches in the literature which transform the fully fuzzy model into the crisp equivalent are employed. Furthermore, for solving large scaled fully fuzzy mathematical programs easily, the generalized version or the closed-form mathematical representations of the utilized solution methods are also derived for the stated RL network design problem. At the end of the study, the comparison of these solution methodologies in terms of computational efficiency, solution quality & ease of use etc. is also carried out.
3 (7) Dynamic pricing under supplier disruptions Araş. Gör. Mualla Gonca YUNUSOĞLU In this study, a dynamic pricing mechanism is developed to prevent possible stock-outs during supplier disruptions. In this sense, a time based modeling approach to model the effect of supplier disruption is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed dynamic pricing mechanism is tested via a simulation model for different cost and disruption scenarios. Additionally, the best values of pricing and inventory control parameters for each scenario are identified by simulation optimization. According to the results, the proposed dynamic pricing mechanism yields higher total contribution than static pricing mechanism does. (8) A Metaheuristic Approach for the Single Row Facility Layout Problem Araş. Gör. Çağla CERGİBOZAN Single Row Facility Layout Problem (SRFLP) is the problem of arranging a number of facilities on a line with minimum cost. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is a metaheuristic approach that is based on the process of evolution. In this study, a GA which includes a local search component is applied to SRFLP instances that have been studied in the literature. Performance of the approach is evaluated according to the results. (9) A Milp-Cp Hybrid Method for Shelf Life Integrated Planning, Scheduling and Distribution in Yoghurt Production Araş. Gör. Çağrı SEL (10) Dynamic Simulation Based Metaheuristic Optimization Araş. Gör. Özcan AYTAÇ (11) A Hibryd Of Simulated Annealing and Dijkstra Algorithm for the Determination of Index Positions on CNC Magazines with the Consideration of Cutting Tool Duplications Araş. Gör. Fehmi Burçin ÖZSOYDAN In the current work, Simulated Annealing Algorithm is proposed to find solutions to indexing of cutting tools in CNC machine magazines, which is a problem of deciding the locations of cutting tools including their types, number and locations of duplicates if they exist. The distinguishing way of this approach is that a shortest path algorithm is used to evaluate the best alternative among a tree of alternatives, which correspond to a single solution representation. Experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
4 (12) A Hybrid Fuzzy Multi-Criteria SWOT Analysis Approach with Application Araş. Gör. İlker GÖLCÜK Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and treats (SWOT) is one of the indispensible tools in the process of strategic planning. There are many real life applications of the SWOT analysis published in the highly cited journals. SWOT analysis is also comes up with a very natural problem structure with the dominance relations, which collects the sub attributes under the four distinct and explicitly defined main attributes: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and treats. Accordingly, SWOT analysis is also a promising tool to model decision problems within MADM setting. In this study, SWOT analysis has a pivotal role in the development of decision hierarchy, and a strategy selection problem is modeled and solved by considering the dependence and feedbacks among decision attributes under fuzzy environment. (13) A Local Search Algorithm for Vehicle Routing Problem with Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery Araş. Gör. Mustafa AVCI As the growing importance of environmental awareness and reverse logistics increases, integration of pickup and delivery activities of goods becomes more crucial. The vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery (VRPSPD) has attracted research interest due to its applicability in numerous reverse logistic systems involving bi-directional flow of goods. The VRPSPD is an extension to the classical Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), where customers may both receive and send goods. The common assumption that goods may only be picked up after all deliveries have been completed is not made here. From the theoretical point of view, the VRPSPD is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem, as it generalizes the standard version of the VRP. Large-scale VRPSPD instances encountered in real-life business activities cannot be efficiently tackled by exact solution approaches. In this study, an adaptive local search solution approach is developed for the VRPSPD. In this local search methodology, we use a non-monotone threshold strategy which makes the threshold schedule self-tuning. The proposed approach was tested on well-known VRPSPD benchmark instances derived from the literature. The computational results indicate that the proposed algorithm is effective in solving the VRSPD in reasonable computation time. (14) PSO Based Memetic Algorithm for Dynamic Optimization Problems Araş. Gör. Elif DOĞDU Many real-life problems fall into the category of combinatorial optimization problems and have dynamic structure. The objective functions, decision variables, problem parameters and/or constraints of these problems may change over time. These kinds of problems are
called dynamic optimization problems (DOPs) and require the optimization algorithms to be able to find and track the changing optimum efficiently over time. To address this requirement, we investigate the performance of Memetic Particle Swarm Optimization (MPSO) algorithm, that hybridizes particle swarm optimization with a memetic algorithm in solving dynamic optimization problems. The experimental results on an example dynamic problem show the efficiency of the MPSO algorithm. (15) A Review of Dynamic Scheduling Problems Araş. Gör. Fatma Selen MADENOĞLU Scheduling is a very critical activity in production management due to its central role in systems performance. Interestingly scheduling problems are usually considered and modeled as static problems in operations research literature. However, scheduling problems in most of the real life manufacturing settings are dynamic problems. Near optimal schedules generated by static approaches may become outdated when they are released to the shop floor. The present work tries to discuss limitations of static scheduling approaches in dynamic environments and outline some of the issues related to dynamic scheduling. Existing definitions of dynamic scheduling along with a review of present approaches on modeling and solving dynamic scheduling problems are provided.
