2 Your Insurance Policy Thank you for choosing Security Industries Specialist Services to arrange your insurance. We are dedicated to provide a high level of service offering specialist insurance protection for clients within the Security and Fire protection industry. This policy is a contract between you and insurers and has been accepted taking into consideration the information you have provided us. Insurers have relied on this information in formulating this contract and it is therefore extremely important that you ensure all material information including sums insured remain current. Please read the schedule and policy documents carefully to ensure that all details are correct and advise us immediately should any correction or amendment be required. Please keep these documents in a safe place as Insurers will refer to them in the event of any claims or circumstances that may arise. 3 Definitions Certain words within these documents have special meaning and will be interpreted and defined as follows Tools Portable powered or non powered hand held tools used in the course of your Trade, occupation or business. Minimum Excess The minimum amount you are responsible for which will be deducted from each and every claim payment made under this policy. Coinsurance Variable amount you are responsible for which will be deducted from each and every claim payment made under this policy. Policy Period The period that this policy provides insurance protection You The insured person or business to which this insurance applies as named in the schedule Insurer Great Lakes Reinsurance Plc Transit From the place of purchase or collection to the place of work or site and within the confines of your vehicle Policy Schedule Document stating limits, sums insured and details applicable to this insurance The Insurance Insurers hereby agree to indemnify the insured against accidental loss of or damage to property from whatsoever cause arising and occurring during the period of insurance within the geographical limits to a maximum sum insured as stated in the schedule, except as where specified and subject to the following terms, conditions and limitations. Limit of Liability Insurers liability in respect of any one occurrence will not exceed the sums insured as stated in the policy schedule and will be conditional upon the insured s compliance with the terms and conditions of this policy Page 3 of 8

4 Geographical Limits Anywhere in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or Channel Islands and in any country within the European Union for up to 60 days per year Law Applicable The parties are free to choose the law applicable to this insurance. Unless specifically agreed to the contrary, this will be English Law Reinstatement (Partial Loss or Damage) In consequence of any partial loss or damage to property insured under this policy not exceeding 75% of the total sums insured, automatic reinstatement of limits without additional premium is agreed Reinstatement (Total Loss or Damage) In consequence of any total loss or damage to property insured under this policy exceeding 75% of the total sums insured, reinstatement of limits and any additional premium calculated at the same rate, is at the discretion of insurers. Replacement Basis Following loss, destruction or damage to property insured by this policy and subject to it s terms, conditions and limitations, insurers will at their discretion a) pay the cost of repair b) pay the cost of replacing as new c) make a cash payment Conditions If the Insured, or anyone acting on behalf of the insured, makes a claim under this policy knowing the claim to be false or fraudulent in any respect or if any damage is caused by the willful act or with the connivance of the insured, Insurers will not pay the claim and all cover under this policy will cease. This policy shall be voidable in the event of any misrepresentation, misdescription or non-disclosure of any material information or facts. Page 4 of 8

5 The insured must give immediate notice to Security Industries Specialist Services of any change in circumstances which may increase the possibility of loss, destruction or damage covered under this policy The insured at their own expense:- a) take all reasonable precautions to prevent loss, destruction or damage b) keep the property insured in a satisfactory state of repair c) comply with all statutory requirements and all other safety regulations imposed by any authority If at the time of any loss, destruction or damage covered by this policy there is any other insurance in force which covers the same loss, destruction or damage, Insurers liability will be limited to its rateable proportion only In the event of any loss, destruction or damage to the insured property Insurers will be entitled to enter any building where such loss, destruction or damage has occurred and to take and keep possession of such property insured and to deal with the salvage in a reasonable manner and this policy shall be proof of leave and license for such purpose. No property shall be abandoned to insurers. General Exceptions Insurers shall not be liable for any loss, destruction or damage to any property or any expense or consequential loss directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to, by, or arising from the following a) ionizing radiations or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel b) the radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosive nuclear assembly or component thereof c) confiscation, nationalization or requisition by order of any government, municipal, local or customs authority or purchase repossession d) loss, erasure, distortion or corruption of any data or information resulting from any cause whatsoever including virus and / or date changes e) atmospheric or climatic conditions condensation or any other gradually operating cause mould, fungi, rust, rot, corrosion, moth, insects, vermin or pests f) inherent vice, latent defect, defective design, mechanical or electrical defect or derangement g) depreciation or diminution of value Exclusions Loss of any item insured under this policy is excluded unless the item is:- a) contained in a locked vehicle whereby all windows and other openings are fully closed and all security devices are in operation and items are not left on general display within the vehicle Page 5 of 8

6 b) contained within a locked storage unit or building Any loss, damage or destruction as a result of:- a) wear, tear, or gradual deterioration b) Deliberate loss or mysterious disappearance c) Consequential loss d) Legal liabilities Any self propelled and / or ride on tool, machine or item of plant Claims For any event or circumstance that could give rise to a claim being made under this policy, the insured must:- a) inform Security Industries Specialist Services at their earliest possible convenience b) where applicable notify the Police and provide details of the Police Crime reference number c) submit all relevant particulars and proofs relating to the circumstance in writing as may reasonably be required by insurers or their agents or representatives. d) retain all insured damaged property for inspection Cancellation You may cancel this policy within 14 days of receipt of this document and a full refund of the applicable premium will provided subject to there having been no losses or claims. This policy may also be cancelled at any other time at your request in writing subject to insurers receiving or retaining the appropriate level of premium as may be adjusted on a pro rata basis. This policy may also be cancelled by or on behalf of insurers by thirty days notice being given in writing to the insured at his last known address, and the premium hereon shall be adjusted on the basis insurers shall receive or retain the appropriate pro rata premium. Notice shall be deemed to be duly received in the course of the post if sent by pre-paid letter properly addressed. In the event of any claims under the policy, the policy will be deemed to be fully earned and no refund will be made. Page 6 of 8

If there are occasions when we do not meet your standards please contact Security Industries Specialist Services in the first instance at the address shown above. We will handle your complaint as follows:- We will acknowledge within five working days and advise you of the name and title of the person who is handling your complaint. We will deal with your complaint as quickly as possible and aim to provide you with a formal response within twenty working days of receipt of the complaint. If compensation or redress is appropriate we will provide details with our response. If we feel your complaint is not justified full reasons for our decision will be provided to you. If we are unable to resolve your complaint within twenty working days we will write to you and explain why we have been unable to resolve the issue. We will also advise you when you can expect to receive our final response. Page 7 of 8

Data Protection The defined terms used in this section shall have the meaning given to those terms in the Data Protection Act 1998 (as may be amended from time to time). In the course of providing insurance services to the INSURED, the insurer may have access to Personal Data. The INSURED warrants that it shall have obtained all necessary authorisations and approvals from Data Subjects prior to disclosing any Personal Data to the insurer (whether such disclosure is made directly by the INSURED to the insurer or indirectly by the INSURED to any agent acting on behalf of the INSURED or the insurer). The insurer shall be the Data Controller of any Personal Data provided to it. The insurer undertakes that it shall only use any Personal Data provided to it for the purposes of performing its services in connection with its contract of insurance with the INSURED. This will include the processes of underwriting, administration and claims assessment as well as any necessary services ancillary thereto. The insurer will hold all Personal Data provided to it securely and shall limit access to such Personal Data to those who have a need to see it. The INSURED hereby consents to the insurer sharing any Personal Data provided to it with its group companies, agents, reinsurers, claims handlers, loss adjusters, medical professionals and other professional advisors, healthcare management companies and any other necessary service providers with whom the insurer contracts in connection with the contract of insurance between the INSURED and the insurer The INSURED acknowledges that the insurer may be required as a matter of law or regulation to disclose Personal Data provided to it to a Court of law or regulatory body such as the Financial Services Authority or any other public body or authority of competent jurisdiction and the insured hereby consents to any such disclosure. The INSURED acknowledges that the insurance industry maintains certain registers for the purposes of fraud prevention and hereby consents to the insurer sharing Personal Data provided to it with fraud prevention agencies and other insurance companies for the purposes of fraud prevention and to validate your claims history.
