1 NEW IT professionals have to perform all kinds of balancing acts to keep customers happy and systems up and running. The PROCOM3 qualification will help you to balance effortlessly. The PROCOM advanced diploma blends professional work-based qualifications with internationally recognised Microsoft Certification. It is a funded advanced apprenticeship that will develop the knowledge, skills and competency of System Administrators, 2nd and 3rd line teams. It provides a thorough grounding in Microsoft technologies and customer support and will prepare learners to achieve the MCSA Microsoft Server Administrator certification. The programme leads to the Advanced Diploma in Professional Competence for ICT Professionals and on successful completion learners will have gained the following certification and qualifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Asociate (MCSA): MCSA Exam : Installing and Configuring MCSA Exam : Administering MCSA Exam : Configuring Advanced Services Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (optional): 7 Configuration: MCTS Exam or 8.1 Exam ICT Professional Competence (PROCOM) Diploma level 3 ICT Systems and Principles for IT Practitioners (PROCOM Technical Certificate) level 3 The programme also covers valuable additional content: Personal development and communication skills Personal effectiveness, organising and planning your workload Management and prioritisation of your own schedule Health & safety Creative thinking and problem solving Team working Programme Structure The programme takes a year to complete and includes: 20 days classroom training and further lab work Microsoft Official Academic Curriculum materials Additional tutor support notes Additional learning materials Practice tests Exam voucher per exam Tutor and assessor support throughout The classroom sessions are led by experienced and accredited tutors using the Microsoft Official Academic Curriculum and take place a week at a time every couple of months. Between sessions learners take practice tests and exams related to the topic they have just studied. Work-based assignments are checked by our qualified assessors who meet learners periodically throughout the programme to provide support and assess how they are applying what they have learned in their work place. 2 Microsoft Certification and progression Skills Team is a Microsoft IT Academy accredited to deliver the prestigious Microsoft Certification exams. Microsoft certification is accepted as the gold standard for IT professionals and serves to develop and validate skills and knowledge. PROCOM3 PROCOM2 MCSA MCTS MTA Demonstrates comprehensive skills in deploying, supporting, and optimising IT infrastructures Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and expertise in Microsoft technologies Demonstrates fundamental knowledge of hardware, IT infrastructure and software and lays the foundation for advanced studies and MCTS exams The PROCOM3 advanced apprenticeship is designed to progress your career as an IT professional. You will gain MCTS and MCITP certifications. You will be either new to your current role or require significant upskilling. The apprenticeship blends classroom training and on the job learning into a programme of over 510 hours of which around 160 hours will be in the classroom. Programme Content and Time Line The programme runs over 12 months with workshops delivered in the first ten months followed by consolidation, work-based support and assessment. Funding and Eligibility A significant benefit of the program is that it can be funded under the government s advanced apprenticeship scheme with only a modest learner contribution required. The PROCOM3 advanced apprenticeship is part funded for learners who are UK or EU passport holders or can demonstrate at least 3 years full time residency. If a learner does not quite fit these criteria, the programme is still open to them but there may be a charge depending on circumstances. Please ask for more details.
