2 Automotive Report Flash report May 2013 Executive Summary Europe Executive Summary New Car Registrations in Europe* in May decreased by 5.9%, if compared to the same month of the last year Among the Top 10 countries only United Kingdom and Belgium experienced an increase in May 2013 (+11.0% and +9.2% respectively) In the period January - May 2013 New Cars Registrations were down by 6.8% in Europe* In May YTD 2013, among the Top 5 countries only United Kingdom registered an increase (+9.3% respect the same period of 2012), increasing its market share to 18.0% (+2.6% respect May YTD 2013) On the contrary Germany, France, Italy and Spain showed a decrease: -8.8% Germany, -11.9% France, -11.3% Italy and -2.6% Spain respect May YTD 2012 The analysis by brand pointed out, among the main brands, only Mercedes and Kia continued to increase in May 2013 YTD: 3.8% and 2.6% respectively while Citroën and Ford showed the worst performances (-16.4% and -13.0% of New Car Registrations respectively, May YTD 2013 vs 2012) *EU + EFTA Countries (Iceland, Norway and Switzerland) 2

3 Automotive Report Flash report May 2013 Executive Summary Italy (1/2) Executive Summary In May 2013 Italian market experienced a single digit decrease, with new car registrations down 8.0% An analysis by area pointed out that new car registrations were down across all regions in May 2013: in particular, a reduction above the Italian average is showed by the North East (-8.5%), the South (-13.1%) and in the Islands (-14.5%) Overall, in Italy, New Car Registrations in May YTD 2013 were down by 11.3% compared with 2012 Fleet segment continued to remain the most affected by the crisis (-14.6% May YTD 2013 vs 2012) while Rent segment showed a reduction below the average (-7.1% respect the same period of 2012) The analysis by fuel type confirmed the exceptional growth, in May YTD 2013, of New Car Registrations of LPG vehicles (+10.1%) and of CNG (natural gas and ethanol) +25.5% respect the same period of With Electric Vehicles, Alternative Fuels reached a Market Share of 14.9% The analysis by segment showed a steep reduction of Executive Class and Luxury Class New Car Registrations (-25.6% Segment D, -26.8% Segment E and -26.9% Segment F May YTD 2013 vs 2012) 3

On the contrary segment A and segment B showed only a one digit reduction (-5.5% segment A and -7.0% segment B) Mercedes, among the TOP 15 brands, showed good performance in May 2013 YTD (+2.3%), on the contrary the other main brands experienced a decline in 2013 with a decrease in terms of New Car Registrations at May YTD 2013 in particular, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Citroën were the brands that performed worst, with decreases of 29.7% Alfa Romeo, 23.6% Lancia and 21.5% Citroën With regard to Electric Vehicles (EV), in the period January - May 2013 New Car Registrations increased by 155.1%, thanks mainly to new Hybrid model launch 4
