4 DIRECTORS REPORT The directors present their report and the financial statements for the period ended 31 October PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES The company was incorporated on 22 February 2010 and gained charitable status (registered charity number ) on 29 October2010. The objects of the company are: Promoting the education and training of veterinary surgeons interested in equine practice, teaching and research; and Promoting research into equine health and the dissemination of the useful results thereof. The company was dormant throughout the period. During this period, the company received no income and incurred no expenditure and therefore made neither profit or loss. BALANCE SHEET AS AT 31 OCTOBER 2010 TOTAL ASSETS LESS CURRENT LIABILITIES 2010 Note CAPITAL AND RESERVES I I The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to companies subject to the small companies regime within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). For the period ended 31 October 2010 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 480 of the Companies Act Members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for ensuring that the company keeps accounting records which comply with section 386 of the Companies Act 2006 and for preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of the financial period and of its profit or loss for the financial period, in accordance with the requirements of sections 394 and 395 of the Act and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to accounts, so far as applicable to the company. ACCOUNTING POLICIES 1.1 Basis of preparation of financial statements The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). COMPANY STATUS The company is a private company limited by guarantee and consequently does not have share capital. Each of the members is liable to contribute an amount not exceeding 10 towards the assets of the company in the event of liquidation. Page 3
