13 PILOT WORKFLOW PMPi API Anderson Hospital ED System PDF/HC Toolbox with ADT-Harvesting and Direct Capabilities Illinois PDMP 1. Patient admission in the ED produces an ADT event message in the Anderson Hospital system (MediTech). This ADT message feed is made accessible to the PDF/HC Toolbox using a third party open source ADT interface engine, MIRTH Connect.
14 PILOT WORKFLOW PMPi API Anderson Hospital ED System PDF/HC Toolbox with ADT-Harvesting and Direct Capabilities Illinois PDMP 2. The MIRTH Connect interface transforms the ADT message to a necessary format for a PMP query, submits the query to the ILPMP through the PMPi hub, and receives back the XML response.
15 PILOT WORKFLOW PMPi API Anderson Hospital ED System PDF/HC Toolbox with ADT-Harvesting and Direct Capabilities Illinois PDMP 3. The PDF/HC toolbox parses the XML response form the ILPMP, formats a PDF document containing the PMP data that has fixed lifetime, and passes this document to Anderson Hospital ED through Direct Messaging. The PDF file is available via a Direct inbox in the name of the shift lead or equivalent attending physician.

PMPi has the technology to accept system-tosystem communication ILPMP would have to connect to PMPi before the pilot could begin ILPMP staff worked with Appriss for months to connect to PMPi (November 2012) ILPMP tested and connected to PMPi January 2013
