Resolution MEPC.157(55) provides a guideline on how to calculate the moderate rate of discharge. 5 Special Trade means the conveyance of large numbers of Special Trade Passengers (Pilgrims) by sea on international voyage within specified areas; a Special Trade Passenger means a passenger carried in Special Trades with spaces on the weather deck, upper deck and / or between decks which accommodate more than 8 passengers. 6 Survey and issuance only if required by flag State or wished by owners. 7 For provision, hose handling and machinery cranes national regulations may apply. There are other requirements for special types of vessels. MARPOL Annex VI Reg. 3.1 Emissions from Sea-bed Mineral Activities 3.1 Emissions directly arising from the exploration, exploitation and associated offshore processing of sea-bed mineral resources are, consistent with article 2(3)(b)(ii) of the present Convention, exempt from the provisions of this Annex. AFS Convention (9) Ship means a vessel of any type whatsoever operating in the marine environment includes hydrofoil boats, air-cushion vehicles, submersibles, floating craft, fixed or floating platforms, floating storage units and (FSUs) and floating production storage and offloading units (FPSOs). Notes: 1. Only certificates and documents required by international conventions and mandatory codes are listed. In addition Port and Flag States might have more extended requirements. All plans, manuals and other documents required by the various IMO conventions to be carried on board ships constructed on or after 1 July 2005 should be marked with the IMO ship identification number in a clearly legible and unambiguous manner (MSC.
