2 In-Depth: Understanding the Differences in Creative Cloud Plans Serial Number (Offline) Deployment Traditionally, enterprise software is serialized with a unique serial number and then deployed to end users. Deploying Creative Cloud for enterprise with a serial number is still an option. Serial Number Deployment means that users do not need to log-in to use the software and internet access is not required users may be completely offline. Finally, with Serial Number deployment, users will have not have access to Cloud Storage and Services. By contrast, Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for individuals requires every user to access the sofware with a unique Adobe ID and all users must be online every days, depending on their plan. What's an Enterprise ID? An Enterprise ID is created by your organization in an Adobe-hosted Enterprise Dashboard. An Enterprise ID cannot be changed by the end user. What's an Adobe ID? An Adobe ID is the standard identification method use to identify individuals on the Adobe.com website. An individual owns their Adobe ID and may change the address and other data related to it. Named User Deployment with Enterprise IDs Organizations increasingly expect to deploy software and services based on Enterprise IDs, which is a unique feature of Creative Cloud for enterprise and not available in the team and individual plans. Enterprise IDs are owned by the enterprise and completely under the control of an IT admin. IT admins may even mandate password length, complexity, and cycling frequency for their Enterprise ID users for extra security and compliance. By contrast, the Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for individuals plans only support Adobe IDs, which are owned and controlled by the individual users. It is important for organizations to understand that users can change anything about their Adobe ID profile, including their address. Creative Cloud for enterprise offers control over accounts and passwords in a way that gives enterprise organizations the greatest level of control of their intellectual property when a user leaves the organization. Serial Number Deployment Named User Deployment Can I mix deployment types? Yes, you can mix deployment types with Creative Cloud for enterprise, using both Serial Number and Named User models joe.doe@company.com With Serial Number Deployment, your organization enters a serial number to activate the software during the packaging process With Named User Deployment, you manage a user list on the Adobe Enterprise Dashboard. Name Group Joe Doe joe.doe@company.com Print Amy Essex amy.essex@company.com Web Jim Fox jim.fox@company.com Video Bob Hoff bob.hoff@company.com Print Serialized licenses must be carefully counted to ensure compliance. user password LOGIN After deployment, users login to activate the software. License Reallocation Adobe software is a valuable corporate asset. When an individual in your organization leaves or no longer needs the software, IT can easily reallocate the license. Software must be uninstalled before it is deployed to a different user. Easily redeploy licenses and offer compliant home use to your employees. Joe@ work Joe@ home 2
3 Subscription Access and Software Entitlement Creative Cloud for individuals and Creative Cloud for teams require end users to login using Adobe ID credentials to access creative apps and cloud services. Creative Cloud for enterprise may be deployed with or without the login requirement, and customers have multiple ID options. Login Required Yes Yes : Serial Number Deployment Yes: Enterprise ID Deployment Enterprise ID Adobe ID Required Single Sign-on Yes Yes Yes 1 Future 2 How is User ID created? Enterprises may assign entitlements to freelancers and consultants who use AdobeID. 2. In the future, Creative Cloud for enterprise will support Enterprise IDs via Single-Sign On (SS0), allowing access to software entitlements and services via SAML 2.0, a secure directory authentication protocol. 3
4 Managing Cloud Services and Storage At Adobe, we're very excited about new workflows and collaboration options enabled by Creative Cloud, but we recognize that some organizations have different needs, operate under different regulations, and have varying internal policies regarding Cloud Storage and Services. Therefore, Creative Cloud for enterprise includes the option to completely disable all Creative Cloud Storage and Services during your initial account setup. At this time, Creative Cloud services are either all on or all off. In the future, we intend to offer IT admins more granular control over which services may be enabled or disabled for at the user and group level. By contrast, Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for individuals offers no way to centrally disable Cloud services. What users have access to Storage and Services in Creative Cloud for enterprise? Several factors affect access to storage and services. Deployment Type Only Named User Deployments, which require a login, can access Cloud Storage and Services. Serialized deployments can be permanently offline but never access Cloud Storage or Services. Preference Storage and services may be turned on or off at the time of on-boarding. Product Purchased Only users with Creative Cloud Complete entitlements can be assigned access to Cloud Storage and Services. Users who are only entitled to single apps or an application subset do not have access to Cloud Storage and Services. Storage Entitlements Your contract with Adobe specifies the amount of storage available to Creative Cloud Complete users in your organization. Some organizations choose to remove all references to Cloud Storage from their contract in which case this feature will be unavailable to their users. Turn off Cloud Storage and Services for all users Control access to storage and services by user and group Amount of Storage Services Available Yes 1 Future 20GB 100GB Negotiable from 0GB up Desktop Sync via Creative Cloud desktop application 2 Collaboration TypeKit Desktop fonts Behance ProSite portfolio Web Hosting PhoneGap Build Sync Settings Kuler Story Plus CC Edge Inspect Desktop Sync via Creative Cloud desktop application 2 Collaboration TypeKit Desktop fonts Behance ProSite portfolio Web Hosting PhoneGap Build Sync Settings Kuler Story Plus CC Edge Inspect 1. If an end user has access to the web via a browser, they also have the ability to store their files in the cloud. However, if the end users are on a corporate network and using company-administered machines, network calls can be limited via the organization s firewall, thereby blocking use of storage while on the network: port 443 te: The services blocked on the web site may be accessible via other endpoints not related to the site and the site may be the only access point for services that should not be blocked. 5 Managing users with the Adobe Enterprise Dashboard The Adobe Enterprise Dashboard is an Adobe-hosted software management console. Using the Enterprise Dashboard, your organization will: Download deployment tools View licensing entitlements Manage users and groups Assign software and services to users and groups Claim your organization s domain Create and manage support tickets What entitlements are listed? The Adobe Enterprise Dashboard lists all of the Creative Cloud software entitlements listed in the Enterprise Term License Agreement, the purchasing vehicle for Creative Cloud for enterprise. Figure 1: Adobe Enterprise Dashboard Single Sign-on (SSO) Creative Cloud for enterprise already offers the most extensive deployment and user management of any Creative Cloud plan, including serial number deployment for offline environments and support for named-user deployment with either Enterprise IDs (ideal for full-time creative staff) or Adobe IDs (perfect for freelancers). However, many large organizations want to manage their software and Cloud Service entitlements based on their own corporate-hosted identity system such as Active Directory. We plan to add SSO support exclusively to Creative Cloud for enterprise in late We expect this will be a very popular option among enterprises that want to manage their users with a SAML 2.0-capable identity management system. Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for individuals will continue to support only Adobe IDs. 5
6 What are Expert Services? Most enterprises are not equipped to answer detailed how-to questions for Adobe creative apps. For example, let s say you have a creative who wants to learn how to create HTML5 animations using Edge Animate. How do you get that user the help they need? The answer: use an Expert Services appointment to book time to speak with an Adobe product expert to answer questions and explain how to make the best use of the apps and features. Expert Services are available by appointment in 30-minute segments. Because the sessions are scheduled ahead of time, your users won t need to wait in an on-hold queue. Users can ask questions via phone or even share their screens with Adobe Experts to quickly learn key concepts and resolve how-to issues. Enterprise Adobe Creative Cloud apps are critical tools for enterprise creative users. To ensure your success, Adobe offers help to both IT Admins and end users via our Enterprise plan which is included with every Creative Cloud for enterprise plan: Enterprise for IT Admins We'll welcome you to your Creative Cloud for enterprise membership with a personal orientation call. After that you're entitled to 24/7/365 support for deployment, installation, patching, security issues, and interoperability questions. You can even submit and track support cases or request Expert Services appointments for your end users directly in the Adobe Enterprise Dashboard. Expert Services for End Users Expert Services are one-on-one sessions that provide direct access to Adobe product experts in web, video, print, digital publishing, and photography workflows. There's no long phone queue for end-users. IT will book a calendar appointment between your end-user and the Adobe expert. We can work with end users to answer questions and solve issues either on the phone or through a web conference with screen sharing. Enterprise Enterprise Availability Yes t applicable t applicable 24x7x365 support through telephone and 1 Expert Two appointments Services 2 per user per year Unlimited appointments per user 1. For details about Enterprise, ask your Adobe Account Manager for the Enterpise for ETLA overview. 2. Appointments are available in English, German, French, Japanese and Chinese. Three Year Price Protection Adobe has multple buying programs, so the way you acquire your software is an important factor in determining the right Creative Cloud plan for your organization. Creative Cloud for enterprise is available exclusively via an Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA) and offers three years of price protection. The ETLA buying program offers simplified budgeting, predictable pricing, and annual payments. Customizable Agreement Creative Cloud for enterprise is available exclusively via an Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA), which is Adobe's most customizable volume licensing program. Working with your Adobe Account Executive, a three-year agreement can be crafted to cover only Creative Cloud for enterprise or include additional Adobe products such as Acrobat, Digital Publishing Suite, EchoSign, Anywhere for video, Captivate, ColdFusion, and more in a single agreement. Payment is generally in three, equal annual installments, giving your organization a more predictable spending pattern for your entire Adobe footprint. A co-terminating agreement for all these Adobe solutions also means less purchasing overhead for your team. 6
