2 VCBA Renovates Children s Room at City Island! Many years ago (close to 20 years, I think), the VCBA created a children s room at City Island. The room offered a safe, quiet place for children to play while court was in session. While the murals on the walls still look brand new, the floors, furniture and toys were well worn and ready to be replaced. Using funds received from the Residential Foreclosure Mediation Program, the VCBA installed new flooring and new window blinds. We purchased a game table with 4 chairs, area rugs, 2 fabulous reading chairs, a new bookcase and a toy shelf with baskets. We also restocked the toys: puzzles, soft building blocks, books and Etch-a-Sketch. The room is bright, colorful, warm and inviting! 4 NOTICE FROM COURT ADMINISTRATION NOMAD PRESENTATION SYSTEMS Please be advised that effective Monday, October 20, 2014, the Court s NOMAD presentation systems are being removed from service. The units were purchased several years ago and are no longer under warranty. The Court will replace the units with stand-alone projectors that can be connected to most computer devices. While primarily for the Court s use, attorneys/litigants will be permitted to use the projectors on a first-come, first-served basis, if available. Advance reservations will not be accepted, nor will training be provided. Therefore, attorneys/litigants may wish to consider bringing their own equipment for evidence presentation purposes. Questions concerning this notice may be directed to the Court Administrator s office at NOTICE FROM SEMINOLE COUNTY CIVIL/FAMILY DIVISION NO TELEPHONIC HEARINGS FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS The Seminole County Civil/Family Division courthouse has experienced telephone system failure. There will be no telephonic hearings authorized for the next two months effective immediately. Temporary arrangements have been made to proceed with telephonic family pre-trial conferences and circuit civil case management conference. These matters will proceed as scheduled.
