2 PREFACE August 213 The forteenth annual Graduate School Data Book includes a collection of information designed to answer frequently asked questions about Illinois State University s Graduate School. The information for Fiscal Year 213 is organized in major sections: overview, programs, degrees conferred and resources, reference and definitions. An appendix offers information on the interpretative data used to score reports and an institutional profile from the Survey of Earned Doctorates. Illinois State University began offering master s degree programs in 1943; doctoral work was introduced in In Fiscal Year 213, the University offered 42 master s programs (including the Master of Fine Arts and the Master of Business Administration), nine doctoral programs (Biological Sciences, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration, English Studies, Mathematics Education, School Psychology, Special Education, Nursing and Doctor of Audiology), a Specialist in School Psychology, and nine graduate-level certificates. Additional information on graduate education is available from the Graduate School on-line at or by phone at Educating Illinois : Priorities for Illinois' First Public University presents Illinois State University s mission, vision, values and goals.
