How Does It Work? for Windows and Host The technology implemented by WizArt makes it possible to separate the localization process from the development cycle, and to use one single localization environment, regardless of the architecture or the tools used to build the application. for Windows Runtime intercepts it. < The original application calls a Windows API to display text. TRANSLATED GUI + REPORTS Runtime looks up the translation from the thesaurus and provides it to Windows in place of the original string. The Translation Editor is used to enter translations. (Thesaurus) stores the translations. Runtime is installed on the end-user s machine, for instance as a dynamic link library (DLL), to intercept and translate strings and messages on the fly just before display. HOST AS400/70 for Hosts The Host system sends screens to the Windows emulator The Emulator sends Windows API s in order to display the texts on the screens and Runtime intercepts them TRANSLATED GUI OF HOST SYSTEM Runtime looks up the translation from the thesaurus and provides it to Windows in place of the original string.
How Does It Work? for the Web and Java for the Web The client requests a Web page The request is passed onto the server 5 Valider The client receives and displays the translated Web page <html>valider</html> 4 The original texts are replaced with their translations from the multilingual database <html>ok</html> The server sends the original, non-translated Web page Client Server The Translation Editor is used to enter the translations (Thesaurus) stores the translations Web Proxy Server can be installed on a separate server (Windows Server, UNIX or LINUX) or on the same machine as the origin Web server. for Java When the original application starts the translation engine is initialized as well < Every grafical object that is created is notified by, who exchanges all text labels for their translations The java Virtual Machine receives the original classes as well runtime classes in order to create all objects in different languages JAVA Virtual Machine The Translation Editor is used to enter translations. (Thesaurus) stores original labels and translations for Java object library is the interface between build-in classes and customer classes and is linked to the application in order to create objects in different languages, chosen by the end-user
