For more information about this product, you can visit http://www.yourmarketingmastermind.com Michael: Nicholas, can you give me a little background about yourself? Nicholas: I built my first web site in 1997 and started marketing on the internet in 1998. Michael: What was your first web site?

Nicholas: It was for a triathlon. Michael: Are you a triathele? Nicholas: I used to be. Michael: How many have you done? Nicholas: I've done about 20. Michael: Twenty triathlons? How many miles is a triathlon? Nicholas: Anywhere from the short one are probably three miles all the way up to the Iron Man is about 150, close to 150 miles. Michael: Is it the hardest thing you've ever done, some of these things? Nicholas: Yep, the longer ones are really hard. Michael: Where did you get your education related to internet marketing? Nicholas: Just from books and talking to people. A lot of practice. I have a strong background in computer programming, especially the languages used on the internet, and I started a web hosting company in 2001. This is where I really learned marketing. I grew the company from scratch with zero customers and only a couple hundred dollars to a multi-million dollar business with thousands and thousands of customers. Michael: Now was that your first internet marketing company? Nicholas: For the triathlon race, the club I was in actually put on a race back in 1998. And since I was good at computers they assigned me to do the web site and also recruit people over the internet to participate in the race. Michael: So is this where you really started learning all your internet marketing related stuff? Nicholas: Yeah, and then with the web hosting company I really had to know really good a lot more money was involved. Michael: How many millions of dollars did that company do? Nicholas: About $3 million. At that time I was in contact with thousands of internet business people who had sites hosted by me, that helped with my marketing skills. And they were also enhanced along the way by going through scores of

marketing seminars, tapes, CDs, DVDs, books, and also working closely with marketing experts. In 2006 I started an internet marketing consulting service.. Michael: Why this focus on marketing? Why was marketing so important to you? Nicholas: In order to grow the hosting company, and also to keep more of the existing clients and make more revenue off the clients. As the market got more and more competitive, which the hosting market really did, I had to keep improving my marketing skills equally well. Michael: So why did you create this Guerilla Internet Marketing Home Study Course? Nicholas: Every internet marketing course, book or seminar I came across either briefly touched on the how-to of internet marketing, gave information on one specific area that didn't pertain to my business, was written by someone without a vast background on the web, or was seriously outdated. Frustrated I could never find any good internet marketing material, I created the Guerilla Internet Marketing Home Study Course. Finally, a course created by an online business owner, for online business owners. The main reason I created the course was for my own hosting business. In order to grow that up to the $3 million I had to know a lot of different things. I really had no intentions on selling this to the public until it dawned on me that these ideas would be stuff other online business owners would want to know, too. Michael: All right, so what's the main purpose of this course you created for yourself? Nicholas: It's designed to give you a crash course in internet marketing and to either jumpstart your marketing campaign or supplement your existing marketing campaign through new ideas and cost-saving strategies. This course not only tells you what to do, it'll describe why to do it and how to do it. I'm so confident that the information in this course is so valuable and will work for anyone that if it doesn't increase your web sales 20% in 20 days, I want you to return it for a full refund. Michael: That's a pretty bold guarantee. A lot of this stuff you studied before, was it more on what to do, but not how to do it? Nicholas: Right. It was on what to do, and didn't really give you the exact steps you need on how to implement it. Michael: All right, so you're saying with your expertise and you doing it yourself, growing that web hosting business to $3 million, you're going give us all the secrets that no one else has revealed before in any of these other courses?

Nicholas: That's exactly what I'm saying Michael. Michael: Can we take a sneak peek inside each one of the different lessons? Now, certainly, we don't have time and I wouldn t expect you to reveal all of it, but would you be willing to share just a few of the secrets in each one of the modules, and then after we go through each one of the modules we can explain to the listeners what else is taught in that module? Nicholas: Sure Michael. I'm going take you through of the secrets revealed in my course. There are five topics, included in the Guerilla Internet Marketing System. Number one, "How You Can Market Online With A Tight Budget", two, "The Hidden Secrets of Google AdWords", three, "Creating An Affiliate System", four, "Money Saving and Conversion Boosting Tips for Paid Online Advertising", number five, "Web Analytics", and a bonus module on "Email: How to Bypass the Email Filters". Michael: Ok, great. Well, let's get into Module 1, let's get started with this. What is Module 1, Guerilla Internet Marketing Weapons? Can you describe this to me? Nicholas: This is how you can market online with a tight budget. I'm going to tell you a few of the top 25 Guerilla Internet Marketing Weapons and explain each one. We're also going to learn a few of the must-have items for your web site. Michael: All right, so anyone who has a web site should be able to implement these, or has the ability with a web site, to implement these for their online business? Nicholas: Right. Michael: All right, so why don't we start with a couple samples of these. How about Guerilla Internet Marketing Plan, what is this all about? Nicholas: This is creating a 7-sentence Guerilla Internet Marketing Plan. It's always important to know your goal and have a plan on how to achieve it. You'll find a link for the Guerilla Internet Marketing Plan Wizard on the "free" section of http://www.yourmarketingmastermind.com Michael: Ok, what is this Wizard, is this something that's going help me create that? Nicholas: Yeah, it'll ask you about each of the 7 different sentences. You type in what it says, and then when you hit "submit" it'll give you a printable version of it. So you can print it out and hang it near your desk.

Michael: Well, what about you say having a clean and easy to navigate site is really important, and to have some white spaces in the site how important is the visual look of one's web site? Nicholas: It's very important. Your web site is a reflection of your company. You must have a well organized, easy to navigate web site. And you want to be careful when adding images to your web site, what colors you choose Everything on your site is either going to add or subtract your visitors' experience and your conversion rate. The key to increasing your site's revenue is increasing the conversion rate, and I'll talk about this in detail in Module #5. Michael: Ok, what about a site map? What is a site map? You have a lot to say in this system about a site map, and why that's important. Nicholas: Your site should really be designed so a visitor can find they need without using one, but the main reason to have one is search engine spiders love these. A link to your site map from your home page will allow a spider to find content deep within your site. A site map is also preferred over a search box on a site without a huge number of products. Michael: Ok Guarantee. You certainly have a bold guarantee when we first started this interview. Should web site owners have a clearly stated guarantee on their web site? And if so, why is that important? Nicholas: Right, you definitely want to have one. It should be on your home page and also on the order pages. And it's important to give you a competitive advantages over your competition. If they also have a guarantee, make yours a little bit longer one. If they do a 30-day make yours a 60- or 90-day. If they have a one-year guarantee on their products, give your product a three- or five-year guarantee. Michael: You talk here also in the system about automatic recurring purchases. A lot of web sites are only selling a product one time. Can they increase their gross sales by offering a continually purchased product? Like a "'til further notice"? Something that automatically charges to their credit card? Nicholas: Right. This works good with services and you can also do it on consumable products. Send them on a regular basis until a customer gives you further notice to stop sending them or stop providing the service. If you have a service that needs to be performed regularly, have an automatic subscription for it available on your web site. For example, if you're a carpet cleaner, and people can sign up to have their carpet cleaned on your web site, have a one-time price, and then a lower price if they do it every 6 months. On average people have their carpet professionally steam cleaned once every three years. However studies have shown for health reasons you should get it cleaned every 6 months. This also works with non-service consumable items. For example I ordered some cat

food on PetCo.com the other day, and they have a service where I could save money and have the food sent to me automatically every so often. They let you choose between 1 and 12 weeks between shipments, and it doesn't bill your card until the shipment date. Michael: How about follow up. Is it important to follow up with your site visitors, and how do you get their information when they come to your site? Nicholas: It's important not to lose the personal touch today by doing business on the internet. Sixty-eight percent of lost business in the US is due to not following up with the customer after the sale. After someone orders on your site, follow up with either an email or phone call, even if you just have an automated email follow up which includes an email, a link or phone number for them to use to let you know how satisfied they are or if they have questions or problems. And the way you have this information is when someone orders on your site you store it in a database and then using software you can send out the emails, either automatically or one by one if you don't have that many customers. This is also an opportunity to up sell or sell a related item and ask for referrals. At PenguinWebHosting.com, my hosting company, we send out an automated email one week after someone orders, asking if there's anything we can help them with. A lot of time there is and if we hadn't contacted them they're likely not going call or write in for help, but take our 60-day money back guarantee. Michael: Wow. Now look, you've got 25 of these Guerilla Marketing tactics. You've shared with me 5 of them. Can you describe for anyone who tests out your Guerilla Marketing Secrets course what the other 20 are that they're going be learning in the system? Nicholas: There's going be forum or message board, newsletter, contests, members-only area, spy tools, frequent buyer programs, affiliate program, coupon codes, gifts, incentives, the Guerilla Internet Marketing Plan, media contacts, clean and easy to navigate site, partial payment plans, email signature, opportunities to upgrade or up sell, thank you, three sites you want to get listed on, free shipping, site map, favicon, fax and guarantee. Michael: Nick, the next part in your Guerilla Internet Marketing Course is called "The Hidden Secrets About Google AdWords". Now, in the description you say that your internet business will be successful only if prospects and customers have an easy access to your site as they search for relevant information. So, in this module you're going explain the importance of using Google AdWords tools to increase traffic to your web site and to increase sales. So when someone gets this course they're going learn the necessary steps on how to set up their advertising using Google AdWords? Nicholas: That's exactly right. They're going know exactly how to go into Google and set this up.

Michael: Well for people who don't even know that this exists, can you explain what is a search engine and what is Google, and why is Google so important? Nicholas: A search engine is where you go to find information or sites on different topics. Google is the most popular one, and the AdWords are the paid listings. There's a couple on the top and some on the right hand side and these are as opposed to the free listings, which are in the middle. Michael: So do you personally use Google AdWords to drive business to your site? Does it make you money? Nicholas: Yes, I'm currently using it. Michael: What would your business look like if you didn't have AdWords. Nicholas: I'd be getting a lot less traffic. Google AdWords is kind of like traffic on demand. Michael: Ok, so anyone who has a business, anyone who has a web site, there's a demand out there for all kinds of products and services. Google, the search engine, has people typing words in their search engines, people who are looking for certain products and services. Having Google AdWords is a way to channel that demand and get them to come to your site rather than your competition? Nicholas: Right. It's an advertising method, and based upon your bid you can get listed higher up than your competition. Michael: How long does it take? Let's say that I'm selling, for instance, cat food. And I've got a warehouse full of cat food and I want to use Google AdWords to start directing traffic to my site to sell my cat food. How long would it take for me to get into Google, get it all set up, and start directing potential prospects who want to buy my cat food? Nicholas: The good thing about Google AdWords is there's no wait to set it up so it's just however long it takes you to type everything in 15, 20 minutes tops. Michael: And then I can have leads coming to my web site? Nicholas: Then you'll start getting leads coming in, right. Michael: Now, what is a "keyword" so let's use the example that I'm selling cat food. What is a keyword, and how does that all come into play with Google AdWords explain.

Nicholas: If you were selling cat food you'd want to use different keywords in there, like "cat food", you might also try "pet food", if "cat food" is not giving enough hits. Or if it is getting a lot of hits you could make it more specific, like "Purina cat food" or "Iams cat food". Target the specific brand. And there's also more different ways you could do it with each keyword, which we talk about in the course. Michael: Now, do I have to guess what everyone's looking for, or is there a tool that you share in the course, that can show you exactly what the entire world is typing in most, related to cat food? Nicholas: Right, in the course we talk about a tool that will show you the number of clicks each term is currently getting. So you'll know that "cat food", for example, might be returning 200,000 hits a day. Michael: So there could be 200,000 people out there, typing in "cat food" on the Google search engine, looking for cat food. Nicholas: Right. Michael: And if I don't have Google AdWords or if I'm not ranked in the natural search engine listings, there's no way I'm going get that internet business? Nicholas: Right those people are going to go to someone else who is listed there who does have the AdWords listing. Michael: A lot of us have heard the term "page ranking". What does page ranking mean, and also, what is a "click through rate"? Nicholas: Page ranking is Google's special way of determining how relevant a page is. Mostly determined on what sites are linking to you, and what the page ranks of those sites are. If you have important links coming in, sites with high page ranks themselves, then you're site is going get a high page ranking. And, click through rate is the number of clicks you get divided by how many times your ad has appeared. And the thing about the Google AdWords is, it actually takes into account your click through rate and the bid you're paying, so with Google AdWords the top guy on there isn't necessarily paying the most, and this course will tell you how to get the best click through rate, so you'll be saving money for your bids. Michael: What if I'm a local business, and I'm not selling international or national, and I'm just selling here in Claremont, in San Diego, California. Is there still opportunity for me using Google AdWords?

Nicholas: Yes, in the course we show you how to target it just for your specific area, so you're not wasting money on clicks from people who aren't target customers for you. Michael: All right, well that's a good sample of this. What else am I going learn in this module? Nicholas: You're going learn what a search engine is, and specifically that Google is the #1 search engine. You're going learn steps to access AdWords and how to add your site in there. You're going learn about page ranking, click through rates and pricing. How Google determines relevance and placement. Timing for setting up a Google ad. Types of keywords. Bidding and determining how much to spend. Importance of testing number of clicks to your site, and other uses for Google AdWords. If you follow these steps you'll get the most out of using Google AdWords tools to advertise your business, increase traffic to your web site, and make more sales. Michael: Module 3 what are we going learn in this module? Nicholas: You're going learn how to create your own online marketing affiliate system. Michael: All right, first of all, a lot of people don't even know what an affiliate system is. They've heard of affiliate marketing, what is an affiliate system? Give me an example. Nicholas: Example of one is Amazon. If you see on their site it'll have "affiliate system" and that's where you put a link to Amazon from your site, and you can even put links to specific books back to Amazon where someone can purchase that book. And each time someone buys from Amazon they give you a commission cause you sent the person over. Michael: So can anyone who has a product or a service that they sell online set up an affiliate system to get people to help sell the product for them? Nicholas: Right, anyone can and you definitely should have one set up to help generate extra revenue. Michael: Is this a multi-level structure? Like MLM? Nicholas: There aren't a whole bunch of levels like MLM, but most affiliate systems will be either one- or two-tier. Michael: Do you personally, in your web hosting business, use an affiliate system to help get sales for web hosting?

Nicholas: Right, we do and a lot of the existing customers are happy to refer people over. If they like the service, they're going be happy telling other people about it. Michael: Are the big players in the internet marketing community using online affiliate systems? Can you name some of the big players using this, other than Amazon? Nicholas: Amazon uses it, Newegg (a really big computer parts store), they have it, Google AdSense is a big one Michael: So this is a proven way to get more sales? Nicholas: Right. For some companies is actually accounts for as much as 50% of their revenue. Michael: Is it going be hard to manage, I mean, am I going be dealing with hundreds and thousands of sales people with phone calls who all need help, or is this all automated? Nicholas: This is all automated, and in the course we talk about the software packages that someone has already created to make the sign up automated, the link tracking and everything is all automated. So it's very low maintenance on your end. Michael: Are there secrets for finding good affiliates? The best people to bring into your affiliate program? And are you going to go over that in the system? Nicholas: Right, in the course we talk about 4 ways to find and recruit good affiliates. Generally only less than the top 1% of your affiliates are going to be sending you business. Michael: How am I going pay these people? What are some of the ways they get paid, and how often do I have to pay them? Nicholas: There are a number of ways you can pay them. Some are pay per click, some are pay per lead, some are pay per commission, and in the software you can set up how often they're going be paid, and then you'd just send them a check or send them a payment through Paypal. Usually it's once a month. Michael: So are you promising me that if I get this course and I go through this module, it's going be easy for me to follow and set up my own affiliate program to help sell my products and services? Nicholas: Yep it's really easy to do anyone can do it.

Michael: What else are we going learn about in this module? Nicholas: You're going learn about what an affiliate program is, benefits to you and your affiliates, 4 payout methods you can use, 4 ways to find and recruit good affiliates, how to approach possible affiliates, marketing your affiliate program, and managing your affiliate program successfully. The success of your internet business depends upon a good affiliate marketing system, which can account for as much as 50% of your company's revenue. Michael: Nick, can you give us some secrets in Module 4? First of all, what is Module 4 about? Nicholas: This is money-saving, conversion-boosting tips for paid online advertising. Michael: Ok, what does that mean? Nicholas: While free advertising is good, if you want to really ramp up traffic to your web site quickly, paid advertising is your answer. It's important to be sure to get the most out of each dollar you spend, but doing that may be a challenge, which is why I created Part Four. Michael: Can you give me a secret of what you teach? What's the best avenue for paid advertising? Nicholas: Same as it is for offline advertising: location, location, location. And in the course we teach you how to find the best location or the best web site that you might want to have your ad on. Michael: So we're talking advertising that's just all online this isn't referred to newspaper or magazine advertising, this is all online advertising? Nicholas: Right, this is all going to be online. Michael: Give me an example of how you use paid advertising to promote your web hosting business, and how has that worked for you? Nicholas: On sites that get lots of traffic that do a lot of advertising themselves, I buy a little space ad on their site, and people going to that web site sees my link and then they'll click that and go through to my site. Michael: Now are you going to show me in the course how to find good sites to advertise on? Nicholas: Right we show you how to find the best sites to advertise on.

Michael: Why don't you reveal that. What is the best site for one to advertise on? Nicholas: It'll be different for each market. We teach you how to go in and find the best ones for your market. Michael: I need you to be more specific. Let's say hypothetically I'm in the business of selling fishing poles. How can I use the secrets that you're going teach me in your Guerilla Internet Marketing Course, to find the best sites to do paid advertising on, related to helping me sell my fishing poles? Nicholas: What you want to do it, do a search on Google for "fishing poles". Then you're going look for the sites on there that aren't sites of your competitors'. These are doing to be informational sites, or directory-type sites. And then you want to take that URL over to Alexa.com, and that'll show you the traffic ranking for that site, see how much traffic these people are actually getting. Michael: What is Alexa.com? Nicholas: Alexa.com is a free site that lets you check the traffic ranking of all the major sites they probably have over million listed in there. Not only does Alexa show you the traffic ranking for that site and how much traffic they're getting, but it also shows the sites linking into there, so you could also see what the traffic is like on those sites, and those might also be sites you want to advertise on. Michael: Wow, that's powerful. Nicholas: Again, to reiterate, the purpose of Module 4 is to help you save money and drive more traffic to your internet business by providing strategies and determining the best advertising sites, negotiating pricing, monitoring traffic, and checking return on investment (the ROI) from paid advertising. Michael: What else are we going learn on this section of your course? Nicholas: You're going learn 5 secrets to select the best location, how pricing works, and negotiating pricing, tips about banner ads, enlisting an ad broker, monitoring traffic and return on investment. Whether you're starting up a new marketing campaign or enhancing a current one, you'll be glad you listened to this recording. The old adage "it takes money to make money" is true only if you follow the tips and tricks you'll hear on this recording. Michael: All right Nick you're scaring me here in Part #5: Web Analytics. It sounds real techie. Can you dumb it down a little bit for a beginner? What is web analytics and why have you decided to do a module on this why is it important? Nicholas: Web analytics are the numbers behind your traffic and how many sales you get. There are a number of key different areas you want to know the

statistics for. It's not difficult though, there's software in place that's going give you these stats, so you just have to go in and look at it. Michael: All right, so you're saying that if I have a web site that in the back end of the site, there's software set up for anyone who owns a web site, that will show statistics of how many people have clicked on a page on my web site, how long they stayed on that page, how many times they clicked on the order page, if they abandonded the order page are these the type of statistics that I have access to if I just knew how to access them? Nicholas: Right. Those are what you have access to and that's in the control panel for your web site. Michael: What are some other statistics that I can find out about my web site in the popularity or the traffic to my web site, any thing else? Nicholas: This will show the keywords that people typed in to get to your site, that's a good one. It'll show the exit pages, which page are people leaving your site on the most. And it'll show you how many times a person has downloaded a file, viewed an image of a product if you have "click here to view the larger image" you can see how many clicked on that to see the details of your product. Michael: Now in this module are you just going tell me about it through audio, or do you have any kind of visual presentation in this system that's going show me exactly what I need to know? Nicholas: We talk about it auditorially and we also have a Camtasia video that's going show you exactly how to go in and what to look for, where everything's at. Michael: Do all your web site subscribers have access to this so-called control panel? And just explain what is this control panel, what are some of the things in there that we're going learn that we can use that for? Nicholas: Yeah everyone has a control panel and in there is the stats. The one my people have are AW stats, along with a couple others. AW stats gives the most details and in there is where you'll log in and you'll view all the stats. It's got a number of different links on the left hand side to take you to the different areas. Michael: Let me ask you this. You sell a lot of web hosting services and you talk to a lot of different people. Out of 100 people, how many people do you think are even aware that these tools are sitting there waiting for them behind their web site out of 100? Nicholas: There's probably only 5 out of 100 that know the stats are there, and view them on at least a monthly basis.

Michael: So what can understanding these stats, viewing them on a monthly basis, what can they do for me? Nicholas: These are going give you a lot of detail about what's working on your site, what's not, what products are hotter than others. You might want to add a really hot one to your home page and get more conversions that way. Michael you've got to understand that there's literally hundreds of different things on your site that contribute to the amount of conversions and if you change just a few of those even 1, 2, 3, or 4% that's going give you geometric growth, and a geometric increase in sales. But there's no way you're going know what to change unless you have access to these analytics and know which stats to look for. You have to have that down before you can start going in and making the changes. I know this subject may sound dry or boring or too technical, but we're going talk about this detail and make it real easy, so you know exactly what to go in and look for. Once you get this down the results from it are going to be drastic. Michael: What else am I going to learn in this module? Nicholas: You will learn about the tools for obtaining key online traffic statistics, key stat areas to analyze and what they mean for profitability, example analysis to obtain a 30% increase in orders with 4 small changes to your site, examples of what to test and why, suggestions for changes based upon analysis results, the 10 reasons why visitors are abandoning your shopping cart, and the 5 stats you must keep track of when sending a newsletter. Rather than guess at the changes you should make, this information provides scientific data as a basis for determining the number of hits to each page, part of each page, or your entire site. You will then be able to make changes necessary to increase your web conversions and increase profits. Michael: Nick, Module 6 you reveal 25 of your most impactful web sites that's going help the owner of an internet marketing business. Can you reveal maybe 5 of the top ones that we talk about and that you explain why are important to understand and to know about for running my internet marketing business? Nicholas: Sure. The first one, KeyWordDensity.com. This site is a great SEO resource and SEO stands for "search engine optimization". Optimizing your site for search engines' algorithms. One of the main things search engines look for when ranking your site is your keyword density. The keyword density is a percentage of the number of times your keyword appears divided by the total number of words. And it just doesn't look for the overall keyword density, it'll check for it in the title tag, alt tags, link text URL and more. The way to use this tool is to compare your site with the top 3 sites that come up for your target keyword. Michael: Ok, what's another one that's really important?

Nicholas: Another one is HotScripts.com. This site has thousands and thousands of free and low costs software packages. Custom web scripts often require a team of programmers to create, plus a couple extra programmers to maintain and support the script. At HotScripts you can find already made scripts that will save you money and are easy to install. Michael: All right, give me a couple more. Nicholas: HardtoFindAds.com. This site has headlines from about 1000 winning ads going all the way back to 1910. You're not likely naturally going to be a great copywriter, so when creating an ad, search through HardtoFindAds.com and find some of the headlines to model after. That HardtoFindAds site is worth thousands and thousands of dollars in itself. And that really goes for all the links here. Knowing about this link is like me handing you $25,000 in your lap. Michael: All right, give me one more. Nicholas: The other one is MisspelledSearch.info, and that has two "s's" in it m-is-s-p-e-l-l This site gives you common misspellings for your keywords. They don't have every keyword but you're likely to find your main keyword or a phrase that contains that keyword. This is useful for terms you're bidding on with Google AdWords. Michael: Ok, great. So tell me what else are we going to learn about in this module? Nicholas: You're going to find out how popular your site is and check on sites you want to do business with or advertise with. You're going to hear 117 hours of audio interviews of business people who share their secrets to success. You're going to find fairly priced web hosting and learn additional marketing tips. You're going search for ads and find headlines and letters to model after as well as obtain low cost business cards. You're going to know how to sell and accept payments easily. You're going to find where to purchase promotional products with your logo on them. Some free tools. You're going know how to set up a way to receive an email with caller ID when you miss a call and much, much more. To build a successful internet business you'll be glad to know about the 25 web sites that help me build and market my business. These invaluable links that I share with you will help you achieve the success you're seeking. Michael: Ok, here's another bonus section in the course, and this is one dear to my heart and anyone who operates an online business I'm sure is experiencing the same frustration I experience every day and that is with email, and I'm so glad you put this module together because businesses like mine, where important emails go into your spam folder and not getting emails and wondering if you're getting emails, and getting junk email is just a huge headache and it only seems to be getting worse. Why did you put this module together?

Nicholas: When I do mailings and I'd only have a feeling that some of them aren't getting through I know some of them aren't getting through so I had to come up with ways to track the mailing, and also ways to get through the spam filters and test the email before you send it, so you know it's going to go through to the most people. Michael: Let's say I haven't started a business but I'm thinking of starting an online business. What is a spam filter, and why should I know about one? Nicholas: One of the main problems and one of the main complaints hosting customers come with is they get too many spam, so what we do is install a spam filter for them, to block out some of this junk email that they're getting. Some people receive up to 100 or more a day. And these spam filters will block the email based on certain properties it has. But they're not perfect. Sometimes they do block email that's not spam or a legitimate email, so when sending out your mailing you have to know what these spam filters are looking for and make sure your newsletter or your email doesn't have those properties in them. Michael: Ok, so are you saying people have online businesses one of the most attractive things about having an online business is being able to communicate with your prospects and your customers for free. Ok? And that's using email, correct? Nicholas: Right. Michael: So if I have spam filters in between me sending my message and my prospect or my potential customer receiving my message that can create lost opportunities and lost revenues for my business? Nicholas: Right, they may not be getting your message and might not know about the offer you're sending them. Michael: So you have devised a system based on your own marketing through email for your web hosting service that will virtually guarantee to get your emails through to your prospects and customers? Nicholas: Right, that's got a lot of specific little tests and also tips on how to get your email through to the major email domains like Hotmail or Yahoo or to the major ISPs like AOL. And one thing to note here, because of my experience with the web hosting and with programming, these are secrets that no other course is going have out there. It's all stuff that's going be new, and you won't find it anywhere else. And I'll also tell you this, that spam filters are becoming more of a problem as time goes on, and certainly not less of a problem. And you also must understand that by getting this stuff down, knowing how to get your email through
