1. Who can apply? Expatriates of all nationalities between 18 and 65 years of age (expatriates over the age of 65 are not eligible for coverage unless they are accepted into the healthcare plan prior to their 65th birthday). FAQs 8. When does my coverage begin? Your coverage begins on the date you are accepted into our insurance. This means your benefits can apply immediately after we have received your payment and approved your application and medical questionnaire. Local nationals may not apply as the principal planholder. Nonetheless, they may apply as dependants. All applicants must fill out a medical questionnaire. In some cases, we may request additional medical information. 2. What are the conditions of residence? After membership acceptance, waiting periods, as listed in the table of benefits, may be applied if you do not previously hold a similar insurance. This means that, for a period of time, there will be no coverage for particular benefits. However, you will still be covered from the first day of membership acceptance - in case of hospitalisation following an accident or unexpected illness. 3. Can groups apply? What are the conditions? Yes, corporate groups between 3 and 49 employees are eligible to apply. All expatriate employees of a corporate group must be under 65 years of age upon enrolment date, and must be actively at work. The spouse and children of expatriates can also enroll as dependents for group coverage. For non-corporate groups or corporate groups of 50 persons and more, please contact our sales team for more details. Medical history: All corporate groups of 3 to 9 employees will be required to fill in medical questionnaires. However, this prerequisite does not apply to corporate groups of 10 to 49 employees. Applicants must reside in one or more of the Asian countries listed in the geographical areas of coverage (zone 1 & 2) for at least 180 days per year depending on the chosen area of coverage. 4. How much does it cost? Premiums (the cost of the insurance policy) can be found in the table of premiums attached to the application form. The currencies of this policy are either the US dollar ( $) or, the British pound ( ) or the Euro ( ) depending on the currency chosen upon enrollment. 10. Can I add more people to the policy? Yes. You may add: 1. Spouse - must be legally married, in civil partnership or permanently living in a similar relationship with the eligible member. 2. Dependent children - including the eligible member s own children, legally adopted children, step-children, foster-children and any other child who depends on the sole support of the eligible member. Eligible dependent children must also live with the eligible member in a customary parent-child relationship. Conditions of age for all dependent children: Children under the age of 18 must be unmarried. Children between the age of 18 and 24 must be unmarried, in full time education, and depend solely upon the eligible member s expatriate s support. Newborn children must be enrolled within 30 days after the date of birth. 7. What are the methods of payments? 5. Are people with pre-existing conditions covered? Those who are aware of pre-existing medical conditions may apply. 6. What is the minimum membership period? Any contract is signed for a minimum duration of 12 months. 11.
