Program Goal Increase the participation of underrepresented groups in Gifted Programs by 10%. Plan: 1. Continue Pilot Project 2. Conduct training for classroom teachers in identification of underrepresented populations for gifted placement. 3. Provide information to parents of qualifying students about the program in written and face to face format. Time Frame: December 31, 2012

PILOT PROJECT Schools: North...Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary Central...Clifford O. Taylor Elementary South...Rolling Green Elementary West...Pahokee Elementary and Melaleuca Elementary All first grade students administered the NNAT2 Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test Second Edition. Tests scores identify students for gifted program screening. Qualifying students are placed in gifted program in home school. Process repeated each year with the expectation of a five year, 1st-5th grade program. Additional schools to be considered in the future.
