Overview AppBoard is a groundbreaking data integration/data visualization platform that dramatically redefines the cost/benefit equation for the development and deployment of real-time business systems dashboards. AppBoard allows you to connect, integrate, visualize, and interact with your data in a simple, straight forward builder environment. The end result is powerful, compelling dashboards that summarize data from multiple sources and can be accessed from any device. enportal is a secure, vendor-neutral network management integration platform. With pre-built Product Integration Modules (PIMs) for common third-party applications, enportal is a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) solution that quickly integrates these network management tools in a unified display. enportal also provides advanced capabilities including Single Sign-On (SSO), multi-tenancy, rebranding, HTML content manipulation / application "hardening" and role/domain-based access via a secure proxy. Scope This document provides the system requirements for AppBoard 2.6. While the main purpose of the document is to address AppBoard-only configuration scenario, it also covers combined deployment scenario where enportal and AppBoard are implemented and configured together, co-located on the same server. Server Requirements Supported Platforms The following table lists the operating systems supported by AppBoard, but in general AppBoard is supported on any 64- bit platform that can run Java 7 or later. AppBoard is also supported on virtualized environments such as VMware. enportal supports the same platforms and is typically installed on the same server. In addition, you will find examples of system configurations specific to different deployment scenarios such as Dev or Test Lab / Proof of Concept (POC), Network Operations Center (NOC), or Managed Services Providers (MSPs). * Note: actual storage requirements will depend on implementation, but as AppBoard typically accesses data from remote sources and keeps it in-memory, storage requirements are low. ** Notes in regards to the database requirements: (1) By default, AppBoard (and enportal) includes an in-memory H2 database for configuration data to maintain the mappings between users, roles and proxied content. For most deployment scenarios - excluding High Availability (HA), clustered architectures - Edge recommends using this embedded H2 database. This will simplify the deployment and lower hardware cost as the H2 database will be installed on the same physical or logical server as the AppBoard application. (2) Optionally, if it is desired to use an external database for this configuration data, Edge supports the following databases: SQL Server, Oracle, SQL Anywhere, PostgreSQL, MySQL and DB2. (3) For High Availability (HA), clustered architectures, it is required to use an external database on separate hardware to avoid a single point of failure and ideally this database will be installed on an HA database cluster that has a high bandwidth, low latency network connection to the enportal servers. www.edge-technologies.com System Requirements 2015 Edge Technologies, Inc. 6
