Welcome to our community meetings! Solarize Southern Tier East is a fivecounty community solar program working to double the total amount of solar PV installed at area residences and small businesses to date, and to leave the market with a permanently increased annual rate of solar power adoption. INSTALLER PARTNERS FOR THE PROGRAM Our Installer Partners for this program have been selected after an extensive competitive process. We are excited about their tremendous experience, their outstanding reputations, the soundness of their businesses, the quality of their work and customer service, and their affordable pricing. In alphabetical order, our Installer Partners are: Direct Energy Solar (formerly Astrum Solar) is a full service solar provider with experience in 20 community solar programs and a member of the Direct Energy family of brands. Direct Energy Solar combines the reliability and skill of a national solar company with personalized service and local knowledge. They have three regional New York offices to service the program - and they will be handling up to 1.2 MW - roughly 150 to 200 homes - in the program. Renovus Energy is a rapidly growing local solar installation company founded in 2003 to provide greater access to high quality clean energy systems to Tompkins County and the surrounding area, including Central New York and the Finger Lakes. They are expanding further into the Southern Tier and will be handling up to 1.5 MW - roughly 187 to 250 systems - in the program. Taitem/ETM is a consortium of Taitem Engineering - a regional consulting engineering firm from Tompkins County specializing in sustainable design, energy consulting services, and renewable energy systems founded in 1989 - and ETM Solar Works - a local solar installation firm from Binghamton NY that has been in business for over 25 years. Both have worked on projects across the State. They will be handling up to 800 kw - roughly 100 to 130 systems - in the program.

Below is the basic program pricing and offerings for our three Installer Partners. All Partners will give you the same type of vetted technology and quality products and service, but each company has a unique history, focus, and pricing. PURCHASE PRICING SUMMARY BEFORE INCENTIVES For purchasing a system, the price is typically discussed as the cost per watt (W) of system size. An average residential system size is around 7,000 W, which after incentives at the Tier 3 pricing would cost between $6,000 and $8,000. Low interest loans for purchases are available from NYSERDA and private lenders, and typically result in monthly payments similar or slightly less than your current monthly electric bill. The table below provides the detailed cost and technology offerings from each of the Installer Partners. All costs are for the base offerings listed before incentives to allow the simplest comparison between the partners. Additional items might be needed or desired in other situations.

LEASE PRICING SUMMARY AFTER INCENTIVES Leases are typically 20 -year agreements with a solar provider where you pay nothing upfront, they monetize all of the incentives for you (so they are a big help if you are unable to use the available tax credits), and they install a system on your home and bill you a known monthly amount for the resulting clean solar electricity. Different from purchases upfront or through lowinterest loans, solar leases are typically discussed as the cost per kwh of electricity after incentives. Today in our region, most residential customers pay $0.10 to $0.15 per kwh, and thus the cost to go solar with a lease is typically similar or less than one's current monthly electric bill. The table below shows the leases available from our Installer Partners.
