MEASURE TWICE. CUT ONCE 10 When the right speaker placement is found and the wall hole is cut out after utilising the cut out template, fasten the cable inside the ceiling/wall and connect the cables between the speaker and your amplifier properly. Always turn on your stereo and listen to music before final mounting. Insert the loudspeaker into the wall/ceiling opening, align the loudspeaker, and be careful not to touch the drivers during installation. Then just tighten the screws in the brackets. Done! EASY INSTALLATION It s never been easier to install quality loudspeakers! The PHANTOM series is designed specifically for hifi performance and safe, fast and uncomplicated mounting: 11 1 2 Use the enclosed cut out template to ensure correct cut out dimensions in your wall/ceiling. Double check measurements and cut out. 3 4 Fasten the cables to the inside of the wall/ceiling and connect the cables between the loudspeaker and your amplifier properly so that the loudspeaker is in phase. For testing, turn on your stereo and listen to music before final mounting. Insert the loudspeaker into the wall/ceiling, align the loudspeaker, and be careful not to touch the drivers during installation. Then just tighten the dogleg bracket screws using the enclosed Allen key. Done! Note: Always let a trained professional ensure that safety items such as earthquake fixings are installed correctly according to your manual. For instance, all DALI PHANTOMS are equipped with an earthquake safety hook that requires a trained professional in order to attach the steel wire correctly. Always use the enclosed Allen Key when tightening the dogleg brackets. Using a power tool can cause an "over tightening" and damage the doglegs.
PHANTOM HELICON, EUPHONIA, IKON, VOKAL 12 [BACKUP] The PHANTOM speakers come with all the necessary kit for easy and correct installation. Cut out template, Allen key & bit, grill hook, painting mask and/or earthquake safety hook are included depending on the specific model. DALI PHANTOMs comply with all present safety regulations. [RIBBON TWEETER] Depending on the specific PHANTOM in question, the ribbon tweeter smoothly rolls in from about 1315 khz to support the silk dome. The powerful neodymium magnets of the ribbon unit allow the ultralightweight, conductive diaphragm to move with unmatched precision and speed. Add to this a wide, horizontal dispersion pattern, and what you get is a ribbon that faithfully reveals the air and ambience of even the subtlest recordings. [SILK DOME TWEETER] Lightweight, oversized and lightning fast. Just to mention three of the most vital characteristics of our extremely dynamic soft dome tweeter. In addition, it serves as the ideal companion to the ribbon of our proprietary and acclaimed Hybrid Tweeter Module. [LOWLOSS DRIVER] What all PHANTOMs have in common is a stiff, yet lightweight paper/woodcomposite fibre cone driven by a massive magnet with a highly focused flux. The motor is bonded and bolted onto a rigid, diecast aluminium basket, which is designed carefully to minimise any air compression. [BAFFLE] To obtain a clean and undistorted sound reproduction, a rigid MDFbaffle is our complement to the inert, diecast enclosure. This aluminium enclosure is thoroughly damped by means of vibration and resonancedissipating materials within the cabinet in order to provide the best driver working conditions. The result is an acoustically inert environment. Note: Sound testing On the rear side of PHANTOM IKON, you ll find an incision shaped as a keyhole. For sound testing, just hang the loudspeaker on a screw before cutting into the walll. Repeat the testing until you ve found the perfect spot for your loudspeaker. [DOGLEGS] For safe and quick installation of the speakers, PHANTOMs include dogleg brackets for wall or ceiling mounting. The brackets attach the loudspeaker firmly to the rear of the surface. Just tighten the screws, use the 3 mm Allen bit and the speakers are all set for music.

The wood fibre cone ensures a precise and natural bass and low mechanical loss, while the significant DALI values assure a sublime acoustic integration with your room, a wide listening area and a large sound. [EARTHQUAKE SAFETY HOOK] PHANTOM LEKTOR is equipped with an earthquake safety hook to prevent injury or damage from a fall. A trained professional should attach the nonflammable wire between the speaker s earthquake safety hook and a solid support in the house and then your new speaker is firmly secured. [GOLDPLATED TERMINALS] The graceful goldplated springloaded terminals secure the loudspeaker s cable and ensure a reliable electrical connection with minimal electrical loss. [QUADRATIC DESIGN] Replacing the round and the rectangular shape, which have been the dominant inwall/inceiling forms up until now, PHANTOM LEKTOR introduces a quadratic design that could very well be the new design trend for install speakers. PHANTOM KOMPAS [BACKBOX] The optional steel backbox designed solely for PHANTOM KOMPAS 6M helps preventing sound from travelling to neighbouring rooms and protecting the speaker from dust, insulation and high voltage wiring. It improves mid and bass performance while always maintaining sonic consistency. The backbox can be mounted from the front side and even provides earthquake fixation. [SWITCHES] Two switches underneath the grill can be used for adjustment of the loudspeaker to a custom set up. The first switch increases or lowers the tweeter level 3 db, while the second either focuses or distributes the sound in your room for best listening experience. [COMPASS] PHANTOM KOMPAS 6M has a laser engraved steering compass underneath the grill for perfect and fast angle adjustment. [WOOFER / TWEETER] The 6.5 woofer with PPcone, low loss suspension and a large ventilated magnet system is tilted and angled for improved directionality and soundstaging plus significantly reduced diffraction. The fixed composite tweeter housing is aerodynamic and has an airplanewingprofiled wishbone bracket for optimum woofer/mid performance. When framing out the house, the bracket serves as an unmistakable mark for other trades installing services such as water pipes, wires and electronics. The PHANTOM IKON PRECONSTRUCTION BRACKET is the safe and easy way to determine the location of the speaker and minimise the quantity of cuts in your wall. PRECONSTRUCTION BRACKET For PHANTOM KOMPAS 6M DALI s PHANTOM KOMPAS 6M inceiling loudspeaker can be installed without the preconstruction bracket. However, we recommend you use the bracket for optimum installation and to ensure the best possible location for your loudspeaker. PHANTOM PHRAME Onwall frame for PHANTOM EUPHONIA & HELICON If you wish to convert your inwall speakers into decorative onwall speakers resembling simplistic art, then the PHANTOM PHRAME is the right choice for your PHANTOM EUPHONIA or HELICON. Naturally, the fine sound qualities of the speakers with or without front grill are preserved after this conversion, which will spare you the trouble of making cuts in your walls. The PHANTOM PHRAME can be painted in your preferred colour. PHANTOM KOMPAS 6M BACKBOX The PHANTOM KOMPAS 6M BACKBOX is developed for the sole purpose of enabling you to control and improve the sound performance of your DALI inceiling loudspeaker even further. It ensures that sound doesn t pass through to adjacent rooms and protects your speaker from insulation and high voltage wiring. The zincplated steel enclosure helps optimise midrange and bass performance and controls the low frequencies as well. As a bonus, the backbox also protects against dust, damp and dirt. In addition, the PHANTOM KOMPAS 6M BACKBOX is frontmounted for easy retrofit installations. It is fireproof and comes with a Daisy Chain for parallel connection, predrilled holes and an earthquake safety hook for safe and straightforward installation. BEFORE INSTALLATION SOUND TIPS When a DALI install speaker is properly fitted and fixed, audio performance can fully match that of a traditional floor stand or shelf speaker. 15 DALI install speakers benefit from the welldefined boundary provided by the wall or ceiling. Combined with DALI s Wide Dispersion design principle, this ensures wellbalanced sound and a uniform soundfield throughout the listening area. DALI inceiling speakers are the perfect choice where appropriate wall space is not available. Inceiling solutions allow you to spread sound evenly in areas that are inaccessible with conventional box speakers. DALI inwall speakers offer a variety of options and are the ultimate solution for a concealed sound source. With invisible speakers, listeners/viewers can more easily focus on the musical event and/or the onscreen action. Once installed, inwall speakers are even shallower than your flat panel screen. Most of the speakers in the DALI PHANTOM range incorporate an aluminium diecast backbox (optional on KOMPAS). A backbox offers several benefits: Protection against moisture, dust and dirt. Consistent sound quality (symmetrical loading), even if the acoustic environment behind the walls/ceiling is uneven. No rear sound radiation, reducing acoustic leakage from room to room and from floor to floor. NOTE: With install speakers, you have the same audio system configuration options as with ordinary box speakers, including 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 solutions. PLACEMENT TIPS Make sure there is sufficient space behind the wall/ceiling surface to accept the full depth of the install speaker. Bear in mind that the cut out dimensions are smaller than the speaker itself, so measure twice and cut once. NOTE: We strongly recommend consulting a professional installer when: There is risk of violation of fire or building codes, e.g. breaking through a firewall. Mounting speakers in a wall containing utility installations (electrical, gas, heating, water, etc.). Mounting speakers in a wall or ceiling where a mandatory vapour barrier will be broken during installation. If for any reason, there is insufficient space inside the wall for inwall speakers, you can alternatively build a false wall mounted on the wall using studs and gypsum board or similar construction panels. This solution also allows you the option of flushmounting your flatscreen TV in the false wall for a complete, discreet system. Please take special care with cabling. If long cable runs are required (in excess of 15 metres), use cables with sufficient cross section of minimum 1.5 sq. mm (maximum AWG 16). For the optimal listening experience, always mount the install speakers well away from room corners in order to minimise the deleterious effects of hard, direct sound reflections.
