Visits to the Raymond James international headquarters over the foundational period will cement the distance learning and connect you with your fellow participants. SPECIALIZATION As a part of the learning process, some candidates will identify areas of specialization that fit with their practice objectives or identify a valuable role they will play for their team. With this in mind, we will assess each participant s objectives and direct them into existing Raymond James programs designed to extend their knowledge in various areas of expertise. We ve identified some of these opportunities in the timeline to the left. It s important to note that the AMP program requires a broad knowledge of all aspects of financial planning, as well as preparation and testing in order to obtain the CFP designation, before any specialization opportunities can be offered. It recognizes the need for a more comprehensive education of new advisors based on heightened expectations by clients and increased fiduciary standards. It s important to note that the requirements for candidates to have the tenacity, work ethic and relationship-building skills that are so essential to success as a new advisor are still very much in place.
