Mission: To promote and develop entrepreneurship and economic development for ethnic minorities in Oregon and SW Washington, and thereby reducing racism and discrimination Goal G l : To support minority, it women and emerging small businesses to grow and develop, by then create jobs ownership and wealth.

OAME was funded in September 1987 by Samuel Brooks, current Chair of the Board. The Board of Director is represented by 7 members. OAME started with only 8 members, all of them small business owners and of different ethnic backgrounds, today, OAME has over 700 members.

OAME s Advisory Board has 29 members representing the Education, Public and Private entities. OAME works in partnership p with other small business service providers, chambers of commers and has several Memorandums of understanding with the objective to support MWESB.

What is a Business Incubator? An incubator program, it can be with walls or with-out walls; with the objective to support small businesses to grow and develop by providing a core of supportive business services.

OAME incubators operating plan: the formula that OAME uses to operate its incubator facilities is the 50-30-20 plan, with the purpose to have a successful incubator program. The Incubator facility will help small businesses in reducing operating cost, plus these businesses will receive direct assistance that will make them able to grow and develop
