1 General Safety Information The details and information in the user guide are provided solely for the purpose of describing the product and its assembly. The information does not discharge the user from the obligation to carry out his own assessments and checks. It is important to bear in mind that our products are subject to a natural process of wear and aging. These notes contain important information that will enable you to use the product safely and appropriately. When sold, rented out, or otherwise passed on to another party, this product must be handed over with the user guide. Use only products that are in perfect working order. Failure to use original spare parts will invalidate the product warranty! Check the product for obvious defects. Use the product only within the performance range described in the technical data. Ensure that all safety equipment associated with the product is present, properly installed, and in full working order. Do not alter the position of safety equipment, circumvent it, or render it ineffective. Failure to observe the safety instructions and warning notices in this user guide may result in personal injury and damage to property. We will assume no liability for any resulting damage or injury. We reserve the right to make technical changes that represent technical advances. Keep these installation notes in a place where all users can easily access them. Observe the directions contained in the main user guide for a system. The general safety information applies to the entire life cycle of the Data Center Server Cart. 1.1 Correct Use The Data Center Server Cart must only be used in accordance with the technical data and safety requirements set out in this document. The Data Center Server Cart is a technical piece of work equipment and is not intended for private use. Internal company requirements and the regulations that apply in the country where the product is being used must be observed. You must not make any design modifications to the Data Center Server Cart yourself. We will assume no liability for any resulting damage or injury. Unsafe or inappropriate use of the Data Center Server Cart runs a risk of serious injury through crushing and cuts. 1.2 Improper Use Improper use is defined as any use of the product for purposes other than those authorized in the user guide and under the definition of correct use. We will assume no liability for any resulting damage or injury. 1
1.3 Personnel Qualifications Assembly, commissioning, operation, disassembly and maintenance work (including servicing and care) require an adequate knowledge of mechanical engineering and an understanding of the relevant technical terminology. To ensure operational safety, these activities must therefore be carried out only by a qualified person or by personnel under the instruction and guidance of a qualified person. 2 Product Description Data Center Server Cart The Subzero Engineering Data Center Server Cart is a fully mobile aluminum shelf system created to hold analytical and computer peripherals used in data center operation. 3 Operating Data Material: Load Rating: Load Per Worktop: Extruded aluminum Permissible total weight 275 lbs. 35 lbs. 2
4 Setting up Data Center Server Cart The cart comes fully assembled. Simply remove cart from crate onto level ground, release all foot brakes on wheels and the cart is ready for use. *If the SC 44 was ordered and you want to add the mast, instructions of the assembly will be included in the shipping contents. 5 Safety Range The Data Center Server Cart is designed to operate only at the designed height. Adding any objects onto the Data Center Server Cart beyond the height of the mast may cause it to become unstable and unsafe for operation. 6 Wheel Movement Lock When the wheel movement lock is engaged, the cart cannot be moved, thereby preventing uncontrolled movement of the cart. 7 Maintenance and Servicing Work There are no maintenance requirements associated with the Data Center Server Cart. 8 Disposal The materials used are environmentally friendly. Parts can be recycled or re-used (if necessary after refurbishment and the replacement of parts). The use of appropriate materials and easy dismantling ensure the product can be recycled. 3
Warranty Information Subzero Engineering warrants to the original purchaser that it will, as its sole option, repair or replace this product or any part of this product, if it confirms that the product is defective in materials or workmanship under normal use and maintenance for one year after the purchase date of the product. This limited 1 (one) year warranty DOES NOT COVER the following: 1. Defects or damage arising from shipping, installation, alterations, accidents, abuse, misuse, lack of proper maintenance and use of anything other than genuine Subzero replacement parts, in all cases whether caused by a contractor, service company, the owner or any other person. 2. Deterioration through normal wear and tear. 3. Damages resulting from abuse or misuse from failure to install or maintain this product in accordance with the written instructions furnished by Subzero Engineering. 4. Use of cleaning products containing calcium hypo chlorite (chlorine), scouring powders or pads shall not be covered. 5. Expense of normal maintenance. 6. All costs of removal, transportation, labor, reinstallation or other costs including postage and/or shipping costs to obtain warranty service shall be paid by the customer. 7. Any liability for consequential or incidental damages, all of which are hereby expressly disclaimed, and implied warranties, including those of merchantability or fitness for purpose intended are specifically excluded. (Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.) 8. Responsibility for compliance with local code requirements are excluded from this warranty. (Since local code requirements vary greatly, distributors, dealers, installation contractors, and users should determine whether there are any code restrictions on the installation or use of a specific product.) This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other statutory rights that vary from state to state or from province to province, in which case this limited warranty does not affect such statutory rights.
